Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

So there's an Image 90's Humble Bundle with a lot of overlap with previous bundles, but it does include the first three Astro City Metrobooks. However, if you just want Astro City, digiphile has a bundle with six of them for 15 bucks:

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

We're up to Image in the '10s bundle (did we skip 00s or did I miss it?)

A ton of overlap if you bought previous Hickman, Remender, etc. bundles but just a fantastic deal. 18 bucks gets you:
Black Science
Deadly Class
East of West
I Hate Fairyland
Ice Cream Man
Paper Girls
Prophet (the sci fi version)
Saga
and a lot more

I love my iPad Pro, and can’t imagine ever going to something smaller than full comic sized for reading.

There's a Vertigo Humble Bundle going on. Has one of the big two done a Humble Bundle before?

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

Not that I recall. Lots of Dark Horse, Image, Top Cow, Dynamite, etc.
I just picked up the EC Resurrection set. It's possible the modernization takes away from some of the classic horror feel but we'll see.

Caveat on the Vertigo - it's available through Neon Ichiban, whatever that is, so another app to download and go through (probably, at least another logon). That, and the fact that I have physical of many of the titles I'd want, made me skip it.

Re: ipad - can you just transfer PDF and CBZ files over USB? I have a couple apple products but I'm not on their infrastructure that much. That's how I currently do it, just copy gigs of books to my tablet and delete them off there when I've read them. Or is there another easy way to get content on the ipad? I currently use Perfect Viewer on a Kindle Fire and it was cheap and works but kinda laggy so I'm sort of window shopping.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

Yeah that Vertigo bundle is... ok but it's basically a sampler of a bunch of titles (ie: volume 1s). Also reports are that while Neon Ichiban does allow DRM free downloads it varies by publisher and I don't think any of these Vertigo titles allow that.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

For ipad, you can just transfer files over usb, or you can put them in your icloud storage (since books are usually pretty small) and just make sure you don't go over the allotment.

I think I asked before what others use but on ipad I use Chunky. The caveat is that it hasn't been updated in a long time now (but it works currently). I think it's free but there are in app purchases if you want to use advanced features:

Chunky supports CBZ, CBR, CBT and PDF comics, and understands ComicRack and ComicBookLover tags.

It can browse and download directly from iCloud Drive, Dropbox, Transporter, Google Drive, OneDrive, Amazon Cloud Drive, Box, Pogoplug, Mediafire and Copy, and you can copy files in and out with iTunes on your computer or download them via the built-in web browser.

Upgrade to Pro and it'll also connect to Mac or Windows shared folders, FTP or SFTP servers, ComicStreamer, Calibre or Ubooquity libraries, and run a mini web and webDAV server

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

Fanatical has had some pretty good deals (and a lot of repeats from humble)
https://www.fanatical.com/en/bundle/books

They've had a Bloodshot through the Ages bundle for a while now but I wasn't that interested in it as a one off. However they just put up an XO Manowar one so if anyone has interest in old or newschool Valiant (which I think is kinda dead at this point but I digress) this is as good a way as any to get them. Hoping for Harbinger and Archer and Armstrong (though the Goldkey stuff probably isn't coming). All pdf format.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

Digiphile.co has a new Image Bundle
Before Absolute: Creator-owned Image comics
which I guess are from the creative teams currently bringing you the Absolute DC stuff: Snyder, Lemire, Aaron, Thompson, Dragotta, etc.

https://www.digiphile.co/collections...d-image-comics

It's a fantastic bundle. I own a lot of this stuff and I'm tempted
East of West
Descender
Ascender
Assorted Crisis Events
Gideon Falls
Severed
Wytches
Southern Bastards
A.D. After Death
Black Cloak
Family Tree
Tenement
Bone orchard
Fishflies
The Goddamned
etc., etc.

Five bucks more gets you the Ice Cream Man books

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

Tempted as well. I've got a lot of those but not all (I think I have at least three, maybe four versions of East of West; one of these days I'll read it), and only part of Ice Cream Man. It'd be nice if you could adjust the funding but still a great deal. Hope they do well and are able to get some unique offerings.
Humble recently dropped an updated "Complete Terry Moore", including digital versions of a few books I paid way more for on Kickstarter over the last two years

Yeah I think I have all but that last volume of East of West in humble bundles (I may have the singles instead) but for 25/30 bucks, man I'll take the overlap. If you have absolutely none of it it's even more of a steal.

The good thing about that Terry Moore humble bundle is that most (but unfortunately not all) of the stuff that's new to this bundle is in the 5 dollar tier.

Oh and I just noticed the Peanuts humble bundle has 5 days left, I don't know why I thought it was ending yesterday.
