Has anyone bought a case yet? It looks like the RDS Industries one is best to me but wondering what others have.

I have the RDS; the blue Zelda version. Good case with room for game cards and a pocket for misc items. No complaints.

I use the one from the Zelda special edition and I like that. The RDS and Butterfox ones are probably the best. Between those 2 I like that the Butterfox has the strap underneath so it's easier to get the Switch out of the case; for the RDS you either have to yank on the bottom lip or turn it upside down and then the game cases will fall out. Then there's the RDS system case which can hold the dock and a pro controller, and SFbags.com has some boughie cases $49+.

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch

I have a Waterfield (sfbags.com) for my 3ds and love it, but the upsized one for the Switch is too much like a purse (plus that price!), so I'm resisting for now. I have the Zelda one but honestly I've never even taken it out of the house.

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch

So far I haven't left home with mine either but I feel like I'll want one for the occasions I do go out of town or maybe if I decide to take it to work sometimes or whatever. I think I'll just grab the Switch branded RDS Industries case. Seems like its pretty nice overall. I sort of like the designs of others a bit more but it sounds like as far as protection they aren't as good.

Best Buy and Toys R Us stores (dunno about websites) are reportedly stocked with systems for tomorrow.

Anyone messed with the Hori playstand?

And yeah I saw Best Buy's website had the switch in stock for almost a full 35 minutes yesterday.

There's a Nintendo Direct on Wednesday focusing on ARMS and Splatoon 2. I'm assuming we'll finally get release dates or at least windows.

I'd love to see 'em sooner rather than later, but pessimistically, I'm assuming June for ARMS and late July/August for Splatoon 2.

I have the Hori tough case and taken the Switch travelling quite a bit including trips to New York, Bahamas, Vegas, as well as to work almost every day when i'm in the office. Works great.

Nintendo of Russia is promoting a Mario Kart 8 Deluxe bundle:

Unclear if this'll make its way to the U.S.

A red colored switch for that bundle would have been fun.

Nintendo Direct starts in 18 minutes.

By the way, I've seen Switches on the shelves at several stores lately. They're becoming less scarce.

Bunch of game announcements and release dates. Arms is coming June 16th and there's a new yellow colored joy-con.

Splatoon 2 is coming out July 21st and has a new mode called Salmon Run. There will also be three new amiibos for it (released the same day).

... also, around mid-May you can buy a second dock (standalone). These will be limited in quantity so folks will have to be quick.

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch

The more I see of ARMS, the more excited I get. This was the first Nintendo Direct I've ever watched from start to finish with my wife (she's poked her head in during others, but she's never watched one), and she's in love with ARMS too.

The more I see of Splatoon 2, the more I'm...eh, whatever, sure. There's a pretty consistent 8 week-ish gap between BotW, MK8 Deluxe, and ARMS, and I'm at least glad that they're tightening that for Splatoon 2.

? Why would these be limited on quantity? oh, right, Nintendo. Can't wait to have to buy one on eBay.

Good news! That Japanese boob squeezing sim you've been aching for (complete with HD Rumble!) is on the way in June. I wonder if Xseed will bring Senran Kagura Refure stateside at some point.

That's some dedication to researching the exact feel of the objects in question, to precisely map the HD rumble. So it's like some breast cancer awareness game, right? That Nintendo, always thinking of the kids.

The one dumb thing that keeps me on the fence about arms are the absolutely stupid way those Switch joycon straps come on and off.

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch

http://www.polygon.com/2017/4/12/152...-release-dates

Here’s the list of every title we got release dates for from that Nintendo Direct, including some with the murky “summer” release window.

Puyo Puyo Tetris: April 25 (with a demo out today)
Minecraft: Nintendo Switch Edition: May 11
Disgaea 5 Complete: May 23 (demo coming soon)
Ultra Street Fighter 2: The Final Challengers: May 26
Arms: June 16
Splatoon 2: July 21
Fate/Estella: July 25
Sonic Mania: Summer
Sine Mora X: Summer
Project Mekuru (working title): Summer
Namco Museum: Summer

We also learned Ubisoft is bringing a version of Monopoly to the Switch in the fall, and Payday 2 will come in 2017.

I'm a bit surprised Dragon Quest Heroes 1 and 2 doesn't have a release date, since you'd think the localization could be done along with the games on the other consoles, which have a release date.

Isn't that one of the 1-2 Switch mini games already? Or was I taken advantage of?

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch

Unsurprisingly, the Switch was the top-selling device in NPD's March report.
