Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)

Anyone play this game?

I've been hooked on it for the past month or so. It is very similar to a lot of those "collect characters and battle" games, but has some pretty fun RPG elements to it. That...and it is Star Wars

It has a "pay2play" element, but I find it is pretty generous in giving out the purchasable currency.

Anyone want to swap Ally codes?

Yeah, it's pretty cool. I log in each day for the reward and play a few battles. I'll PM you my code.

Is there a way to remove and reuse equipment once you put it on a character?

No, once it is equipped you can't remove it.

You luck out and get any cool characters from the Bronzium packs?

Nope. All I seem to get are equipment items. I really don't have a good roster yet.

I've been playing for almost a month too. Level 53 with 20 characters so far. I've spent $0.

My ally code is 583-536-333.

Haven't heard about this. I'm not wasting enough of my life with The Simpsons: Tapped Out so I'll download it and check it out.

Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)

Okay, I dig it, pretty cool. It's been a long time since I've played a turn-based RPG but hey, I have fond memories of Final Fantasy on NES so slap a Star Wars skin on it, I'm good.

I'm surprised this EA game had me sign in via Google Play instead of EA (formerly Origin). Also, is there a community component or a way I can play against my Google Play (or EA) friends?

Just hit level 60. I've been very lucky with the Bronziums, and was able to get a 3* Dooku, and a 4* Barris.

Sent you an invite.

I've also been burned out by the Simpsons. The only community component right now is an Ally system where you can "borrow" a friends leader for your own battles. It is a good way to try out other characters you may not have.

Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)

I'm not burned out by The Simpsons. I play several times every day and I'm the OP for the thread. How do we find each other for this game to do the Ally system? Do you want to turn the OP into a username database so we can do that?

I guess I was projecting my feelings on the Simpsons

You cannot add any Allies until you hit player level 18. Then you get a Ally Code which can be shared so others can add you.

I don't mind listing the Ally codes for everyone, but for right now I'd wait, as there was only been three people posting to the thread. If there is more interest I can update the original post.

Yup. Me. I have a ways to go to catch you guys. Only level 18 at the moment. Is it best to use the items I get or save them for good heroes? Also I
Should be leveling my heroes with training droids too right?

Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)

Most gear is pretty easy to grind for. I wouldn't worry about the rarity of gear until you get to the purple level ones. Those I would only equip for the good characters.

You should be leveling with the training droids as well.

Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)

I haven't had any problem getting anything I need. Just sim stuff or let it auto-play after using the Find feature.

Who is your main team? I have, all 4-star, level 53 with gear levels in the 5-6 range:

Sidious (Leader)
Asajj
Talia
Luminara
Jedi Consular

Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)

My main team:

Luminara (5*) Leader
Sidious (6*)
Fett (5*)
Dooku (4*)
Jedi Consular (5*)

I just unlocked Vader when I hit level 60, so I will try to level him up to see how well he will do in the mix.

Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)

Here's my complete roster. Not really sure who to focus on so appreciate any tips.

Jedi Consular (2*)
Clone Wars Chewie (3*)
Jawa (3*)
Poe Dameron (3*)
Talia (3*)
First Order Stormtrooper (2*)
Resistance Trooper (2*)
Clone Sergeant (1*)
First Order Tie Pilot (1*)
Royal Guard (1*)

Also,

1. Ally Points: I'm sitting on ~ 9k. Looks like they are used to buy bronzium cards. Guess I should be spending these?

2. Arena Shipments: Where you can buy 5 character shards for 400 ally points. Should I be buying these to help get new characters? Buying 5 when you need 80 seems pointless.

3. Leveling: What is the most efficient way to level? Do the light and dark side battles? Do you venture into the Squad Arena or Events/Challenges?

Thanks

Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)

From your list of characters, I'd say you should focus on upgrading the Jedi Consular, Chewie, and Talia for now. The rest of your characters are either too hard to upgrade (shards are hard to get), or not really worth the energy.

The only thing you can do with Ally Points right now is to buy Bronziums, so go crazy If you are lucky you might get some nice 4* drops.

With Squad Arena Shipments, you will probably want to focus on getting Darth Sidious. 80 shards may seem pointless, but this game is all about the grind.

The quickest way to level is doing all the Daily Achievements every day. Doing the Light and Dark battles will help as well, but the difficulty on those can spike up fairly quickly until you level up. You should also be doing all the Events if you can, as it is a good way to get some good resources (training droids, ability mats).

Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)

Yep, you'll run out of the ability to play every day before you really hit a grind. The beginning levels of the game are completely misleading with how quickly you gain bonus energy to spend. Soon you'll find it takes 2-3 days to reach the next level.

Do everything, every day.

I'm playing this. It's getting to be a bit of a grind as I approach 60, but I'm still enjoying it.

I just wish iOS got Phasma as the freebie instead of Poe.

Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)

I've been playing Star Wars Uprising for a few weeks, which is a single character game where you play a smuggler and you go on missions. I'd classify it as an action RPG. Unlike Galaxy of Heroes (it seems), there aren't any established characters. That said, it's fun. I'll download Galaxy of Heroes and give that a try too.

Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)

This is fun though I feel like I'm flailing when it comes to upgrading characters. It's one of those things where if I don't upgrade my existing roster, even if they're not who I want to end up with, I'll never get anywhere. So maybe I'm wasting upgrades, maybe I'm not, we'll see.

I think I can play against other people now. My Ally Code: 812-419-611.

Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)

Anyone know what the gear max is? I was hoping level VII would be it (like stars), but there's definitely a level VIII.

I'm saving up for a 8-pack of Chromium cards. Have 1.7k now, so it shouldn't be too much longer. I'm sure it'll be a complete disappointment.
