re: Xbox One: S $249 Now / X $499 November 7 2017

Glad to see a lot of people in here finally jumping on the Xbox One bandwagon!

With the price cut and then the extra $20 off and crazy bundles and more holiday exclusives, I wonder how much MS will dominate this month for sales? I wouldn't be surprised for it to come close to tripling the Wii and PS4 sales for the month.

Triple?!
Even double is stretching it.

It may... may... come out on top for this month. By a tiny margin, if at all.

triple.

Well, it will definitely be number one for the month, and I would be pretty shocked it wasn't double in some territories. Triple would be crazy but feasible in some areas I'm sure.

It's the better console with the much better lineup of games. It's nearly $100 cheaper then the competition, and includes anywhere from 2-4 games and free live etc. There has been a TON of advertising and positive buzz for the past few weeks, whereas PS4 has been dead silent, and the Wii U had Smash Bros.

I guess we will find out in a few weeks...

There's been plenty of buzz over the PS4 Black Friday bundles. I agree that XB1 will likely win November, but you're being silly.

I (long time MS fanboy) just ordered the LBP / Lego Batman PS4 bundle from Amazon. Hopefully some descent exclusives come out for this this. I'm sticking to XB1 for all other games.

The Target deal with Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag and Assassin's Creed Unity plus the $50 gift card was too hard to turn down so I've joined the current gen. Also picked up Alien Isolation (Nostromo Edition), The Evil Within, Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham, and Middle-Earth: Shadow of Modor.

Stop it!...

I would say it is a draw overall as depending at what you are looking at each system is better than the other in certain regards.

The PS4 has a better library system and better integration of being able to see what DLC is available for each game right from the game tile.

The One has better overall friend activity and achievements environment; but the limit of the pin to home tiles displayed and poor game/store integration is outclassed by the PS4 setup.

Hardware differences are well documented, but it's all about the games and enjoyment at the end of the day.

Imagine that.

I agree that while the One is easily winning on price, I do think that the GTA V / TLoU bundle holds a lot more appeal to the "Core Gaming" public than the Assassin's Creed bundle that MS swung. Making the CoD bundle with a bigger HDD has appeal, but probably not enough to justify the extra $100 price point.

I expect that the One will win November (FWIW), as it should considering how much MS slashed off the price, but double?
That's a whole lot of people simultaneously shooting themselves in the foot

re: Xbox One: S $249 Now / X $499 November 7 2017

I've heard a lot more "buzz" and media attention around the XBox One, as well as people talking about picking one up, but a large part of that is because the pricing has been so aggressive. Quietness on the PS4 front doesn't necessarily equate to anything, because Sony hasn't needed to do anything crazy to sell systems since launch whereas Microsoft had to pull out all the stops just to "win" a month.

MS trying to be competitive is good for consumers, but the hyperbole is pretty ridiculous

Based on your playing habits? no.

It will be cheaper when you get to it in 3-5 years.

Cheaper physical copy if you're GCU.

Careful throwing that word around. It's likely to incite extreme hyperbole and an irrational level of butthurtedness.

triple.

Well if my Target is any indication, MS killed it over Black Friday. Thursday evening my Target had 250+ Xbox One bundles, and 50 PS4 bundles. Friday at noon there were still 25 PS4 bundles in stock. I was told that at midnight Thursday there were 16 Xbox bundles left and by 8:00 am (when the employee returned to work) they were sold out. There were still PS4's on the shelf today.

I went to two Targets in my Area today to try and grab an Assassin's Creed bundle, but they were both sold out. I'm actually thankful that they were sold out because I already have the PS4. I might jump on an Xbox One Christmas deal, but at this point, I am finding it hard to justify owning both consoles.

re: Xbox One: S $249 Now / X $499 November 7 2017

I picked one up this week, along with nine games () that I either got as part of the Target B2G1 or Black Friday. Or, in the case of Dragon Age, preorder.

As part of the BF sale at the Microsoft Store I ended up with two download codes and a copy of Halo I can toss on eBay and knock about $120 off the price of the Xbox One (down to almost $200!).

Plus they sent me a second game coupon that's good until the end of February, which means I'll be saving that for The Witcher III.
