Re: inFAMOUS Second Son (3/21/2014)
Has anyone else ordered the Collector's Edition from Amazon?
Mine shows an expected delivery date of 3/25. I'm a little paranoid that since this has been listed as unavailable for pre-order for a month or two (I ordered back in December) coupled with the fact that delivery date is after release date (what happened to release date delivery Amazon?) that for some reason the 25th might come and go and I have no copy.
This title was the primary reason I got the PS4.
Or could it be that Amazon only had a small amount available for pre-order and once those were all ordered they couldn't take any more.
I know others have had their Standard Edition shipped from Amazon and Best Buy, but has anyone received a shipping notice of their Collector's Edition from Amazon or anywhere else?

I know they ran out of them at some point, because when I pre-ordered my regular copy (earlier this month), the collector's edition was not an option. My guess is that the delivery of the CE to Amazon has been delayed. Are you guys Prime customers?

I am a Prime Customer. I'm just bummed because I was looking forward to playing this all weekend. And now I may have to wait until next Tuesday or later.
I know, I know...there are worse problems to have...

Call and complain tomorrow when you don't get it on release date. If nothing else, you'll probably get a $5-$10 promotional GC out of the call.

^^ Shouldn't matter... as a matter of fact, ordering that early should have you at the top of the queue.

Sadly, I don't think their system works that way. In my experience based on these threads and the comments on Amazon, the order that things are shipped doesn't seem to correlate with the order that they were ordered.

The time to preorder digitally would have been on the 18th or before when you could get $10 back for spending $60.
Looking forward to this tomorrow. Hoping to skip out of work a little early. Seattle is in for a real surprise, because I'm going balls out evil. Grenades for every 12th man!

I think you have that mixed up. Playing evil is more difficult because the random civilians in the world will also attack you. It's much easier to do your Hard playthrough on the Good path because the civilians will occasionally help you with enemies. That's my experience anyway.
First playthrough, play easy difficulty, evil path, wreak havoc, collect absolutely everything.
Second playthrough, hard difficulty, good path, focus on story, don't worry about collectibles.
(I've done 100% on all Infamous games, including Festival of Blood)

But on the bad path, you can drain them, giving you much needed boosts of energy when some of the fights become overwhelming. To me, that's the biggest reason to play as evil on the harder difficulty, since you don't have to worry about killing. On good, you're walking on eggshells making sure you don't hurt the normals too much.

My regular order says delivery by tomorrow night at 8 PM, but it's currently just listed as "pre-order" and not "shipping soon" or "shipping now". Hrm.

This game is a lot of fun so far. The visuals are very crisp. I like the animation style a lot. Very colorful but not too cartoonish. I'm playing it as the good guy the first go round, will play evil after that. I'm playing on normal, which doesn't feel too difficult thus far. I'm curious how long the game is.

On the story the other day the lead designer Jamie Griesemer leaving Sucker Punch and Sony there was a statement from him...
I appreciate all the well-wishes on the news that I am leaving Sucker Punch, but please don’t take the timing as cause for concern about Second Son--it’s a great game that I am proud to have on my resume and I can’t wait for everyone to play it--or Sucker Punch--a studio on the rise with a bright future--or Sony--a great organization with some of the savviest, most pro-gamer executives in the business. And while I am honored to be mentioned in the same articles as legendary designers like Amy Hennig and Stig Asmussen, please don’t look too hard for some sinister pattern."
"The truth is that any creative, vibrant industry is necessarily volatile; the only sure bet is that the next few years will not look the same as the last. Change is part of the job, but along with the upheaval and uncertainty, there’s opportunity and new challenges. It’s an exciting time to be a free agent and I'm going to go see what’s out there. Simple as that…"

I interpret that as "I'm tired of making the same game over and over, and I'm pretty sure having this role on my resume will allow me to get another job."
I can't fault the guy for that.
Really looking forward to playing this tonight!!!

Newb question: what "app" on the PS4 do you use to view others playing games live?

You can search current streams for any game by title (or probably dongs, if that's your thing), and there's sure to be multiple ongoing streams. It will be packed with Infamous streams this weekend I'd imagine.
It's a really great feature. It's already replaced the demo, and it's about to make the "review" irrelevant (as if it weren't already).
