I played a couple of hours only. Not much so far as impressions yet, but it is beautiful and absolutely next gen. I'm doing good as well -- it's hard to commit to evil the first time you're given a choice between the two options in the story.

This game definitely feels more difficult than the previous ones. I've died a lot already. Maybe I'm just playing like an idiot because the previous games were so easy. It seems like his initial powers are not very strong and I'm having a hard time clearing out the districts.
I think I just might be getting too ahead of the story. By the time I got to the part where it explains how to
, I had already done it at least 20 times.

I went full evil except that I don't discriminate when it comes to drug dealers or freeing DUP prisoners, and I'm glad I committed, because the game is liberating this way.
I can't speak to difficulty on good, but it's not too bad on evil. But I've also collected tons of shards and upgraded all of my powers. I find I do a lot of the dash and kill combo on evil, and I love stunning them with grenades and dashing over and melting faces. The evil path also encourages you to maintain kill streaks, so I don't hesitate to drop a missile into a crowd or to hit a truck as they're getting out.
I'm loving the navigation and think it's much better than prior games. I definitely recommend upgrading to double dash and getting extra high vent height.
The city is just wow. I find myself stopping to take in the views quite a bit.
Feels like a low 90s game to me so far, not quite measuring up to Arkham City within the genre but with more varied and ranged combat. I definitely think it improves on it's predecessors across the board with better powers, better navigation, better writing and acting, much better characters, a better city, and obviously the presentation is stunning.

Played quite a bit yesterday and last night...and obvious from my friends list a lot got the game as well.
As most already know the game looks absolutely stunning with such detail in the city that I spent almost 1/3 of my time just looking and flying around. I was already impressed with the very beginning (tunnel and bridge) but was just wowed with the city. The misty, rain of a fall day really gives Seattle a realistic look.
I took the "Good" path which makes up be a bit more careful though you cannot subdue every soldier and bad guy. I like the way they have laid out the Powers Chart when you do upgrades...you can compare the "Good & Evil" powers.
I can see this game being a double play-thru just to compare the 'Good & Evil" paths. I saw a article at Gamespot on Why You should Play Infamous: Second Son On Expert ...
http://www.gamespot.com/articles/why.../1100-6418445/
... since on the "Evil' path you pretty much have zero regard for anything and anyone so you cn go all out with not much worry. on expert you apparently need to be a bit more thoughtful with all your powers. So I'll try that
way...
Interesting to see some of the user scores on a few sites....
IGN - 9.2 out of 129 ratings
Gamespot - 7.2 out of 75 ratings
Gameinformer - 8.5 (unknown amount of ratings).

I got neon this morning.
I prefer the movement set of smoke, but you can seriously one-shot dudes with neon, and you can navigate the map faster as well.

I believe I am at a power given/taken after neon and don't feel overpowered but I also have not used any shards to upgrade any powers
As I previously mentioned I loved 1 but never played 2 .... Cole was great .... I have no problems with Delsin like some reviewers did ... he is a fun character but I do think the supporting cast is not as strong ... Delsin's brother is no Zeke
I also really miss grinding/traveling on the power lines
The graphics/environment are just beautiful ... at times I feel like I should just slow down and walk the map to take it all in instead of plowing forward so fast
If this is a near launch title I can't wait to see what the future holds especially from Naughty Dog and (my favorite) the Uncharted franchise
There is something that feels missing to make this a solid 10 experience. I guess it is probably the been there done that feeling I get with open world games and I don't have the same attachment to the characters/story here like I do in Uncharted
EDIT: also not sure if it was mentioned here or elsewhere but audio defaults to tv speaker mode in this game, you should change to home theater
I did have the game crash on me once as well

Really liking this game so far. Haven't had my PS3 in years so the series is new to me. Like others have said, the graphics are stunning. How far along in the game did you guys get your neon powers?

Playing on good, this does feel a lot harder to me than the first two. Even regular enemies feel tough. Also I feel like I gain good karma much more slowly, although I'm getting better at subduing large groups of enemies.
I don't feel like there's as much forward momentum in this one. While I was happy to do sidequests and things in the first two games, I remember generally wanting to move forward with the story. Here things feel much more lackadaisical. I am enjoying the vent escape and smoke rush, plus the Banksy-esque tagging is cool.

I'm not even really sure how to move the game forward. I have almost completely cleared out the first area except for some secret agent and hidden camera that I can't find. My brother doesn't seem to be much help either.

So the game gets MUCH easier once you learn another power. I was basically clearing all the districts using the first power and completely ignoring the story. Once I played a few story missions and got some new toys, I breezed through it. Got all the collectibles and misc trophies too. All that's left is an evil playthrough on hard difficulty.
Awesome game.

Re: inFAMOUS Second Son (3/21/2014)
You really plowed through it 19K!
I've cleared probably 5 or 6 districts to 0%, and I decided to put it down for a bit so I can savor it in smaller bites. Agree that the other power(s) make it easier, but I still favor smoke. I just love the vent boosts, boosting off cars, chaining dashes and glides, melting faces and throwing missiles around. I also find that smoke is more reliably rechargeable.
Agree that it's an awesome game. Easily my favorite of the series thus far, and the first clearly next gen game I've seen.

Yes. You switch between powers by finding their respective elements in the environment.
The third power is kind of amazing. Won't spoil it.

Is that something they don't let you do until you unlock it in a mission? I tried to absorb some smoke and it burned me.

That's why I'm going evil on hard.
Fetch annoyed me at first, but she's growing on me, despite her rather swift change in disposition.
