Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V

Vice City should be available on the PlayStation store to download if you have a PS3. Other than that, did you play the expansions for IV?
And if you haven't played Red Dead Redemption, it is a different setting obviously but its a must play game.

I have probably repeated the complaint about the driving in every GTA thread referencing GTAIV.

Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V

Honestly I am perplexed by the complaints of GTA IVs driving. I thought it was one of the most impressive parts of the game. It doesn't feel sluggish at all to me. It just feels oddly real. Every car can be driven effectively with a little practice, but they almost all drive differently.

Being able to round a corner at 120 mph without any effect, or being able to stop on a dime, is too easy, kills immersion, and generally cheapens the experience for me. One of the reasons I got bored of Sleeping Dogs. Driving everywhere was so dull.

Beyond that is just the behavior of traffic in general. GTA IV did a great job simulating urban traffic patterns.

Anyway, not saying you guys are wrong, it's just a preference. One I don't understand .

Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V

Saints Row the third was complete shit - nothing at all to do and the first half of missions were the fucking activities!!

Saints Row 2 while fun, was just average.

Yes, GTA IV (Nikko side of things) got a bit boring but with the lost and damned and the balled of gay tony....you're out of your fucking mind if you say those suck.

And for GTA IV alone....the graphics and environments AND THE FUCKING DETAIL is just simply unmatched....makes all the others look like shit. Damn game came out in 2008 and still looks better than a lot of games today.

http://1985fm.com/news/2013/2/5/take...ration-release

"There is not one gamer who is going to sit out of GTA V hoping that something that is going to come along down the road that's better. It's going to blow everyone away, and it's going to be in the market in September," he said, when questioned whether there might be a "dual-generation launch" for the game due to the proximity of its release date to Sony and Microsoft's presumed Fall console launches."

I don't understand that answer. Is there going to be a dual-generation launch or not?

I think they're saying that it's going to look good enough that no one will care that it's not a next gen title.

Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V

Developers can't say anything about next-gen titles yet since those consoles haven't yet been announced, even if they're already developing for them. It's a shifty answer designed to avoid the question without directly lying.

Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V

I mentioned this in another thread, but wouldn't this whole Chris Dorner thing make for a cool story DLC in GTA 5?

I mean, you start out as a cop in Los Santos, and you run afoul of police corruption, you end up getting bounced out of the police department, vow to take vengeance upon them, as they chase you all throughout San Andreas.

This crazy story is SO GTA.

We will if the new consoles aren't backwards compatible. A lot of people (myself included) sell off old consoles to make way for the new.

This game still screams "next gen" to me. I don't see how it wouldn't end up on the other systems at some point.

Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V

Interesting. I thought for sure that the Wii U version would be an E3 announcement. Guess we'll find out soon
GTA 5 Release Date PC, Wii U, Xbox 720, PS4: Big Announcement Coming At May 16 Investors Meeting?

Will the GTA 5 release date for PC, Wii U, Xbox 720 and PS4 arrive in 2013? Or will computer and next-gen gamers be forced to wait until 2014 to experience the upcoming LA-based "Grand Theft Auto" title? Rockstar has already confirmed that the game will come to PS3 and Xbox 360 on September 17, but an announcment concerning other consoles could occur on May 16, when Take Two interactive is scheduled to hold an investor call event, Examiner reports.

So will the GTA 5 release date for PC, Wii U, Xbox 720 and PS4 be announced next month? The new-site notes that the gaming company has used similar events in the past to make big announcements their consumers are dying to hear, so there's still hope we'll get a full schedule for the "Grand Theft Auto: V" launch by mid-May 2013.

InEntertainment reports that the GTA 5 release date for PC, Wii U, Xbox 720 and PS4 will arrive in 2013, though they note that they are keeping their "finger's crossed" while they wait for confirmation:

I'm buying GTA V on Xbox 360 for sure. But if it's released next year on a next gen system, I'll double dip, which is something I never do.

This is exactly what I will do as well as long as the game delivers what it appears it will deliver.

Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V

Wow, I'm surprised nobody else already mentioned it here, but Rockstar announced the Special and Collector's Editions of GTA V, including the goodies with each.

http://www.rockstargames.com/newswir...ollectors.html

If you pre-order any version of the game, you get access to the Atomic Blimp. Flying around in a blimp sounds pretty damn cool. If you can blow it up, even cooler.

It does look like the Collector's Edition is exclusive to Gamestop (and through Rockstar directly). The big items include a New Era Los Santos cap and Security Deposit Bag. There's also exclusive in game content including a garage stocked with exclusive cars. You also get exclusive skins for Multiplayer that include characters from previous GTA games (Niko is shown in the pics on the page). You also get all the Special Edition goodies.

The Special Edition comes with a blueprint map of the city, a steelbook, and some in game content as well, like Stunt Plane trials (oh boy), Special Ability boosts, free weapons, and exclusive tattoos and outfits for the characters. You also get discounts in the various stores in the game.

So there's some interesting tidbits about the game there. Sounds like customizing cars and characters is more like San Andreas, though not quite as extensive.

Michael, Franklin and Trevor each have a unique special ability, and there is a bar associated with it. They haven't revealed what they are yet, but I'm guessing one has to do with cars, one with explosives, and one with weapons.

Nothing in that link mentioned exclusivity.
