Besides being good, I'm also glad that the game is polished, not buggy and that I won't have to wait for an update to make it more playable - which seems to be the case for almost half the games released these days.

Didn't even know about that $15 bonus. Required purchasing Spider-Man after 12AM PT on 9/4/18, so I made it by about 8 hrs.

That makes my digital purchase just a little more palatable.

My launch system sounds like a space ship now and I wouldn't mind a pro. May go to Best buy early on Friday and try to get a Spidey system.

Really wish this wasn’t a PS4 exclusive as I’d like to play it. Part of me is half tempted to pick up the PS4 Pro bundle with the game but I’d really rather not spend $400 just for the one game (I’m sure I’d find others but still) especially when the console is probably nearing the end of its life cycle.

Target shipped both my copies today. After watching one unboxing video, I might end up returning mine. My regular copy was only $40, so it's kinda hard to justify the extra $110 with everything in that tiny box. Especially after the last two fantastic CE I got, Horizon Zero Dawn and God of War.


Also, the PS4 Pro looks off to me. I thought it was supposed to look like a darker red. It looks more orange in the video.

Sony consoles have each been supported for at least 11 years. Nintendo's the only one with a habit of quitting early.

After seeing the video above of the collector's edition unboxing, I now feel the reason Sony kept the statue under wraps is because of how shitty and small it looks. Certainly not worth the price of the set since better statues can be purchased at a cheaper price.

My Amazon pre-order for the LE PS4 set with the game just shipped so I hope to get it by Friday without any hiccups.

Haven’t there been rumors swirling for a while about the PlayStation 5 though? Who knows how far off it is but I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s only a year or two out. For the limited amount of games I play I’m just not sure it’s worth investing the money for a PS4 when this and the Uncharted games beyond the third are the main titles that interest me.

All the rumors seem to circle around a 2020 release for the next generation of consoles. I've basically only played Sony exclusives on my PS4, but for me it's been worth it just because of the quality of their top tier games like Uncharted, Horizon, and God of War. And hopefully Spider-Man

But obviously people value those experiences and costs differently.

Still debating whether the preorder bonuses are worth buying it now with the 15 dollar off 2 digital preorders deal.

The deluxe version is basically just including the DLC, right? Is that discount off of the normal price?

Yeah, the three post-launch expansions, which include some extra missions and new suits and bonus content (not specified) and if you buy it before 9 PM PT tonight, a code to get a free physical enamel pin.

The Season Pass retails for $24.99 so you save $5 if you buy it that way.

There are also some minor pre-order bonuses if you buy either version before 9 PM tonight, but they will unlock eventually in-game either way. You also get a static exclusive PS4 theme (that is LOCKED along with the game until tonight so I don't know what it looks like yet. )

BTW : You don't have to pre-order to get in on the $15 bonus. Just buy 2 games from that list in the designated time period. It's confusing the way it's presented, but of course they include Destiny 2 Forsaken on the list and there was literally no way to preorder that game and get in on the deal since preorders for it ended three hours before purchases for this promotion became eligible.

I got the deluxe. I figured if I was going to buy it I might as well get the preorder bonuses. And yeah, Madden is on there so it doesn't have to be a preorder.

Another anecdote is that I was really tempted by that stupid deluxe version of NBA 2K18, but passed on it because the main draw for me was the early release (which is a really stupid policy that should in no way be supported) and Spider-man will now occupy the time until the regular release comes out anyway.
