Pigeons were probably the most annoying, thus far. I didn't mind the bomb diffusing.

What's with the Daily Bugle stands? Seems pretty random when I view a new one. I always check them but I'm only up to about 10 so far.

Just wait until you hit some of the later Screwball challenges. Some of those are a real pain in the ass.

Unless I'm totally forgetting something, what Daily Bugle stands?

I don't know what the Daily Bugle stands are either. But Screwball sucks.

They are the Bugle newspaper stands when you open them, it reveals a headline. I did a few but didn't bother with them since you don't need them for the Platinum. They are scattered throughout the city.

Re: Spider-Man (Insomniac Games) PS4 (9/7/18)

Looks like I only have two "locked" challenges that I haven't made it far enough into the story yet to unlock them(around 65%). I assume one of them is Screwball. Taskmaster is my recent unlock so I'm doing those.

Yeah, there's 25 Daily Bugle papers/headlines to find. From GamesRadar:
The way it works is this: You do a mission, and a new headline pops up in the red newspaper dispensers throughout the city. You go to a newspaper dispenser, press triangle, and you’ll be shown the front page of the daily bugle that relates to the story milestone you just saw. Do another mission, get another headline...you get the idea. So here are the missions that unlock every single headline. To save you some time, here's every single headline you can get in the game.

You don’t get anything for collecting all of them besides the satisfaction of a job well done.
I can't get enough of this game. Flying around the city is just too fun. What's the verdict on the DLC?

DLC is fine, not great. The first one is the best and I felt like they decline after that. But I felt the same way, I just wanted to play more of the game, so I got 100% completion on each one, which is very rare for me.

I'm at like 60%. The game has been pretty easy and then suddenly that Scorpion and Rhino boss fight really ramped up the difficulty. It was all about timing which I hate in gaming and a main reason I don't do platformers.

I haven't fought them yet and I'm at around 80%.

I did get my ass handed to me by Taskmaster multiple times this weekend before turning to the net for tips. Turns out all you have to do is dodge. Something I don't do a whole lot during regular fights.

Re: Spider-Man (Insomniac Games) PS4 (9/7/18)

I just started playing again. I played for about an hour on Christmas before getting hooked on AC Odyssey. I'm at 22%, but I have just been exploring the city and looking for backpacks and landmarks. I have all the backpacks and finished all the Fisk bases. I'm almost finished with the landmarks and have finished a couple side missions. I did a side mission where I had to chase pigeons and I hated it... Is there a lot more of that? Also, the random crime missions where you have to track down speeding cars frustrate me. I can only catch up to the car about half of the time.....

The swinging gets better once you upgrade all of your skills. It’s not perfect but you need to practice it. Yes there’s more pigeons missions and more of the lab missions where you have to travel through the city on a time basis.

If anyone is looking for the DLC, it's 33% off starting today as part of the PSN sale.

I did the same thing. I'm now about 50% through the game. I finished all the pigeon side missions and some were hard, but I gradually improved catching them. I'm struggling on the regulator research station mission. I just can't blow all the regulators before time runs out. I'm going to attempt it again tomorrow.

I’m hung up on a Screwball mission in the final DLC chapter. You have to beat a bunch of guys using only two specific spider gadgets and I keep failing.

Re: Spider-Man (Insomniac Games) PS4 (9/7/18)

Dumb question... if you buy the DLC does it add a bunch to the map right off the bat? Also, does DLC offer any chances for challenge tokens? I'd like to get all the suits, but I'm not sure I have the patience for trying for gold on the challenge tokens.

I'm around 85% and just finished clearing out every area 100%. I guess it's just main story here on out.

Yeah the dlc adds more tokens that's the only way I got the Platinum. I had maxed out all my gadgets and didn't realize I wouldn't be able to get all the suits.

Excellent. That's exactly what I did. I have 1 upgrade on a gadget left and then all the suits.

Thanks.

Re: Spider-Man (Insomniac Games) PS4 (9/7/18)

I'm struggling wanting to progress in this game. Feels like after a few hours, you've seen and done everything the game has, and after that, it gets really redundant. Sure, all games are like that to an extent, but this seems worse than normal. Swing around the same locations, beat up bad guys, rinse, repeat. Part of the issue is that I don't enjoy the combat, like at all.

Re: Spider-Man (Insomniac Games) PS4 (9/7/18)

Action-wise, have you unlocked all the gadgets, suit mods and moves? There's all kinds of variety in how you attack a situation and some of them are just flat out fun. There are also bases that you can attack with stealth which is kinda cool. I thought the variety of missions was pretty solid as well so you aren't doing the same thing over and over.

Insomniac also managed to mix in a perfect amount of non-Spidey stuff to do as well. Mini-puzzles in Otto's lab and at FEAST, photographer stuff, investigative work as MJ and some other stuff with another character(spoiler free answer).

How many hours have you put in? I didn't like the first couple of hours myself and sat the game aside for a few weeks before giving it another shot. I love it.

I can't imagine someone hating the combat. It's got probably the best combat system of any open world game I've ever played.

I'm roughly 10 hours in. I've unlocked most of the gadgets and abilities, don't really find any of them interesting. The MJ stuff is LAME. The puzzles, even more lame - I sometime skip them by accident, and I'm always glad when I do. I enjoy swinging through the city, but that's about it.

Sounds like you've made it a decent way. Maybe it's just not for you. Nothing wrong with that. I'm not sure how many hours I've poured into it, but if you're not feeling it 10 hours in, it's probably time to move on.

Re: Spider-Man (Insomniac Games) PS4 (9/7/18)

I have been playing this exclusively the past couple weeks. I think I'm about 80% through the game. Have any of you gotten the highest ranking on the Taskmaster Challenges? I have only been able to get the middle ranking. I have tried some of them five times or more and haven't been able to get the highest ranking on any of them....

Re: Spider-Man (Insomniac Games) PS4 (9/7/18)

Nope. I have the silver/middle on a few. I'm not messing with the gold, especially since Questyen said there are more challenge tokens in the DLC. I'll see how that goes as far as getting enough to unlock the suits.

Whoever was in charge of the Screwball stuff in the DLC should be executed.
