As long as he doesn't go the Bruce Timm route of Batgirl putting on the cowl because of an obsession with/attraction to Batman. I love Timm's versions of nearly everything else, but I personally hate that particular ship.

BAYWATCH Actress Priyanka Chopra Has Her Sights Set On A Superhero Role, Specifically BATGIRL

“But my dream part is, now that I’m working in America, I definitely want to do a superhero part. When I think of American movies, they’ve had superheroes for eons right? So I definitely want to play a superhero and I want to have an interesting super power. I don’t know… Batgirl would be so cool!”

Obviously an actor/actress wanting a role means nothing, but what do people think of her?

She's pretty cute but I wouldn't be surprised if WB goes for someone a tad younger.

Don't really know much about her. After Baywatch tanked, she probably won't get her wish.

She's 31 but seems like can pass for mid 20s which would work since JK Simmons' Gordon is probably in his 60s.

IMDB says she's 34. Also I don't know her aside from Baywatch either and I wouldn't have even known that if it weren't for the article.

Oh, when I read the article I thought it said 31. Probably just misread it. Still, she's passable for mid or even late 20s. But don't know about her acting chops*

* Gal Gadot proves with the right director, though, it might not be a problem.

If they went with someone from Bay Watch, Alexandra Daddario would be the better choice.

I hate to say this, but I think it will go to a known white, American woman. Or Zoe Saldana. Which ever comes first. Would she be locked into Marvel only?

Daddario please if it's Barbera, and of course it will be.

Sofia Boutella if it's Cassandra Cain.

They would be wise to cast someone young, because it's probably going to be years before it gets made.

This is part of the Bat-verse though... Toys and underoos are already in production.

IDK, once Whedon is done his part on Justice League, probably will get working on the script (if he hasn't already). Wouldn't surprise me if it came out some time in 2019. This isn't going to be the same kind of scale, budget wise, of The Batman or Wonder Woman.

Grain of salt and all that, but this is the shortlist according to Screen Rant:

  • Elle Fanning (Neon Demon/Live By Night)
  • Olivia Cooke (Bates Motel)
  • Bella Thorne (Shake It Up!)
  • Katherine Langford (13 Reasons Why)
  • Margaret Qualley (The Leftovers)
  • Jane Levy (Don’t Breathe)
  • Emma Roberts (Scream Queens)
  • Haley Lu Richardson (Split/Edge Of Seventeen)
  • Naomi Scott (Power Rangers)

Be warned, clicking the link will automatically start playing a video for this news.

Of that group, I like Jane Levy, Haley Lu Richardson and Olivia Cooke.

re: Batgirl (D: El Arbi / Fallah) [CANCELLED]

I don't mind Elle Fanning, but I really don't see her in that role.

Either Jane Levy or Olivia Cooke would be fantastic casting. I probably dig Cooke a little more as an actress, being a big fan of Me and Earl and the Dying Girl, but Jane Levy seems like she'd be a better fit for the character's mix of strength, spunk, and sweetness. Plus, she looks great in red.
