That sounds like a whole lot of fan speculation to me, and this is the Latino Review after all. Still, as someone who didn't DESPISE ASM2 (but I didn't particularly care for it either) it sounds like the right way to go.

I like all of those ideas. Goddammit stop putting money into the ASM movies, Mike86. Let's make this happen.

I like him as Spider-Man, not that I hated Tobey, but Garfield's Spidey is funny and has more than one joke a movie.

Garfield, or the cast in particular, hasn't been the problem with the Spider-Man movies but it makes sense to re-cast and start over if Marvel gets the character back.

Sony needs to get out of the Spider-man business completely. They have no clue what to do with any of the characters. I have no interest or desire to see a SINISTER SIX movie (at least one made by them).

I like Garfield as Peter Park / Sipder-Man, so it'd be a shame if they had to recast him. I understand the reasons they'd do it, but I think he's done a good job in the role. I wonder if there's any way they could just absorb the two Garfield movies into the MCU or if that's even been thought about.

Basically I read this article as Sony (Japan) saying let's at least get something out of this before the license becomes worthless to us.

I knew there would never be another Webb/Garfield Spidey movie. This is one time where I welcome an early reboot.

Seriously though I don't have a problem with starting fresh if Marvel Studios actually gets the rights to the character. I think Garfield got better in the sequel or he at least grew on me, but I wouldn't call him a definitive Peter or Spidey. I'm okay with skipping the origin at this point since its been done twice in a relatively short period of time.

Don't fucking tease me... Andrew Garfield out would make me happy to see another Spider-Man film. I like Andrew Garfield, but he was not a good choice to play this comic book hero.

Too bad about Garfield if that happens. I like him in the role. I would've liked to see where they took it if there was a Part 3 and a decent time jump. Oh well.
It'd be interesting to see how they write in an aged Spidey who is located in NYC, and wasn't involved in The Battle of NY.

1) Andrew Garfield will be replaced as Peter Parker, and all existing stories will be wiped clean.
2) Marvel will skip an origin story and start their version of Spidey as one that sees Peter already leading a double life
3) The MCU version would put far less focus on the romance angle of Spider-Man as the idea’s already been played out in five other films.

Garfield was fine. What was wrong was the scripting, dunno for ASM2 but it sound like that one was a clusterfuck.
Saying that... if Marvel did get Spidey back kicking him out is good cuz why would you want to continue that continuity?

That would make sense if they start over. Would be kinda weird using the same actor that just did a completely different story line.

I also think Garfield was infinitely better than McGuire. Unfortunately, how poor his movies were, sort of makes him seem not as good as he was.

The good thing about Marvel and their characters is that... they know how make their heroes really really cool. Unfortunately most of their villains are generic. So if Marvel got Spidey... we'd get a really good interpretation of him.

I'm still a little fuzzy on this : Why would Sony even consider giving Spidey back to Marvel films?

Second bold -- if they do that, I would go with this:

The better question is why would Marvel want to spread its resources to a character it doesn't fully own the film rights to, when at the point they could probably release a Sleepwalker movie and have it make $250 million.

No rebooting origin story moving forward? Best news ever.
Never saw ASM because I don't give a shit about a reboot a few short years after the original. Needless to say, never saw the sequel either.
