And, yet, it actually looks better than the Robocop suit they came up with.

Yea but Dredd bombed so it's likely they may go for a PG-13 should this movie be a turd just so they can get a younger demographic.

Damn it, Hollywood. You have to stick to a vision for it to be any good. Cutting a movie to PG-13 has never and will never "save" a movie.

To conceive a PG-13 movie is a-ok. But to change halfway through is wrong. Always.

Hate to say this, but most of the time a suck ass movie is a suck ass movie regardless of the rating. Financially speaking, all one will have if they stick with the R is a bad movie with more blood that not many people can see and few will want to see. Cutting it to PG-13 won't improve its quality, but might help grab the " Middle-America teenagers who can't drive so they hang out at the movie" demographic and maybe make something where there once might have been nothing. I'm not saying these teens want to see it, but they can, and they've nothing better to do.

That was the first thought that came to mind when I saw that picture.

Dredd bombed because it was stigmatized by that goddamn awful Stallone version.

I really do hope Dredd gets some love on BD/DVD. So much talent unappreciated in that film. Man..how I want that same crew to work on another one ASAP.

I am holding out hope that, as previously mentioned by someone in this thread, that they start with a suit that is similar to what we know and love, the idiot focus group vetos it, they go this lame black suit route, he gets beat up so badly that they need to rebuilt him with parts from the old suit.

In all honesty I don't think anyone under 25 really remembers that version in the way no one under 25 really knows about that Dolph Lundgren Punisher movie.

Yup. That's still the ideal scenario.

Like I mentioned in the Dredd thread, Cable TV lets crappy movies play everyday.

It bombed because no one knew what the character was supposed to do or be. The marketing totally f'ed the movie they should have done a quick explanation like a the beginning of a Marvel movie. I knew it was based on a comic however I never saw the whole Stallone one and didn't really know if he was supposed to have powers, he was a normal guy or what. Face it it didn't look interesting to most people.

I still can't get my son to watch it.

Is your son a hipster? Tell him to shut up, sit down, and watch the goddamn film.

Just another example of that just being a suit rather than a robot. The original had the holster inside his leg making it clear it was a totally mechanical body. This is just a damn suit.

Ugh... that holster... what's going on!? The outfit around his crotch is clearly cloth. I have no confidence in this...

...hand...

They might be able to save this in ADR if they re-dub everyone and make it a comedy.

This thing better have like a year of some serious post production work to it.

re: RoboCop (2014, Padilha) S: Kinnaman, Oldman, Jackson

Maybe he's not Robocop in any of the pics we've seen but rather still Alex Murphy in standard cop gear. He has the one exposed hand so he can do the TJ Lazer gun twirling that his kid loves. Eventually he gets shot the hell up, starting with the hand getting blown off, and is subsequently rebuilt into a robot whose design emulates the overall look of a police officer in standard gear only badass and robotic and shit.

Yeah....

We agreed on total body prosthesis! Lose the arm! Or keep it! And add a vinyl holster!

re: RoboCop (2014, Padilha) S: Kinnaman, Oldman, Jackson

If that is the way it actually looks in the film, all I can wonder is how brain dead are the people making this if they actually believe that looks like a robot and not just some man in a armor suit.

It's as if George Lucas designed the suit, and all his yes men were saying, wow George, that is so Robocop!!!

Come now, George's Robocop suit would look like this
