By the way, is it sad that I knew what the date was before I clicked on the thread?

I also remember any number of friends in junior high school using their family's old Super-8 movie cameras and plastic models to try to make their own special effects shots. Movies and TV shows, and talking about movies and TV shows, were definitely part of the culture.
Maybe the people you knew were just cooler than the people I knew.

What is it with movies focused on Star Wars that causes them to get massivly delayed. First Fanboys, now this. They should dump that "People vs. George Lucas" film to video now since that one will also get hit with the curse.

Last I heard, it was living a quiet life in a Florida timeshare with The Shark is Still Working. They even have a weekly poker night with Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair; John Hughes' longer cut of The Breakfast Club brings the chips and dip.

Re: 5-25-77
Well, it might be seven years late, but current word is that this movie is still coming, and is currently set for release on May 25 of this year. This got announced last May. So what's been going on, you might ask?
Well, the title was changed back to 5-25-77, and in 2012, director Patrick Read Johnson set out to take his rough cut on the road in his Pinto with his girlfriend and played the film at various locations including Devil's Tower, Wyoming, Austin, and even L.A. His girlfriend was shooting a doc called Hearts of Dorkness, which will be released when the movie is released on DVD per Johnson.
Since that road trip, that same rough cut played at both the Fantasia Film Festival in Canada and the Toronto International Film Festival as part of TIFF Next Wave in 2013, and before the most current bit of news, Johnson was looking to have it out in 2015, which is when he revealed he had a distributor but wouldn't say who. With this new report from last May, some new posters were unveiled, which are all quite good. Unfortunately, there is no new trailer yet and Johnson continues to be mum on who is distributing it but it will have a nationwide release and he just did some pick-up shots last summer. Beyond that, the film is just about done, and Johnson has said the May 25 release date for this year is firm. He is the link with the posters. Enjoy:

P.S.: I do not work for Patrick Read Johnson. I've been keeping up with its progress over the years because I want to see as much as many others do. And before I go, I leave you with this fan-made poster that Johnson posted on his Twitter feed. I think it's pretty awesome:

New trailer! Definitely opening in four weeks! Plus the site has been relaunched too.

While I do admit that this trailer is a big step down from the previous ones (I personally think the music isn't all that good), it really feels like a goldmine to see a whole slew of new footage here. Still in for day one though! Waited over a decade so why give up now?
