One of the most memorable HBO things I remember were the Faerie Tale Theatre shows, some of them were pretty weird.

The Three Little Pigs episode was one of my favorites. Jeff Goldblum as The Big Bad Wolf and the three little pigs played by Billy Crystal, Fred Williard, and Stephen Furst. The casts that they got for each show was amazing.

Who was the comedian that had an HBO comedy special with the jokes like "This is my helmet (hands on his shoulders) and this is my shouldermapads (hands on his head)" and he also did the whole bit about the farmer and the duck?

Any new developments on where to find some of these movies after 5.5 years?

Let's see if any of these spark your memories: Slapstick of Another Kind (Madeline Kahn & Jerry Lewis), Spitting Image (puppets), Hanky Panky, Haunted Honeymoon, Gilda (Radner) Live, Little Monsters, Like Father Like Son, It Came From Hollywood, Who's Harry Crumb and The Peanut Butter Solution (really freaked me out because of my Peladophobia).

I used to love the Red Skelton Christmas special Freddie the Freeloader's Christmas Dinner.

Someone earlier mentioned Harry Hamlin and Helen Hunt in a baseball movie but I believe it was Harry Hamlin and Mimi Rogers in Blue Skies Again. Loved this one too.

havent seen either of these in probably 20+ years

'Cannery Row' finally got a DVD release, last year IIRC.

Love that film. John Huston's narration makes it really special.

I'm such a fan of both books.

I remember Roller Boogie (starring Linda Blair) being on pretty constant rotation in the early 80's.

Also, Xanadu.

Long Gone

William Peterson, Virginia Madsen and Dermot Mulroney. It was about a minor league baseball team in the 50s.

Now I'm all pissed off again I can't get Twice Upon a Time on DVD. And I've added Blu-ray to the request list.

Kidco -- the one with the kid from The Toy (who eventually did porn) who started a fertilizer/manure business.

Remember Private School with Matthew Modine and Phoebe Cates? Wow she looked great in that... of course she looked great in everything... spooge demon...

You might still be able to find it among the $3 titles at your local Big Lots. That's where I picked up my copy.

I caught part of Body Slam on This TV the other day. Just terrible, but I was never a wrestling fan.

I tried to like it, I really did, but I couldn't enjoy it. It was too uneven for me with Winger being wrong for her part but I did like M. Emmett Walsh and Nick Nolte including the whole Sear plot. The narration really does work, especially when it comes to the scene with Hazel wanting to run for President.

I just saw Millennium which I had remembered fondly from watching it as a kid but it wasn't as good. On the flipside, I enjoyed Cherry 2000 more than I did when I saw it on HBO.

Does anyone remember a movie with Miguel Ferrer as some criminal on the run with a girl and there's some big gun fight in a hole-in-the-wall bar?

Loved that "movie". A one-off oddity, obviously made for about five bucks, with Dan Aykroyd, John Candy, Cheech and Chong, and other comedians of the day ridiculing old, bad B-movies like Plan 9 and Mars Needs Women. Kind of a precursor to Mystery Science Theater 3000.

'Up the Creek'.

'Golden Rendezvous' - they played this all the time in the late 70's.
