Re: The One and Only Shout! Factory Blu-ray Thread
How I wish that Shout would release Dick Cavett's Backlot USA TV Special starring Mae West , and from memory John Wayne and Mickey Rooney amongst others it was produced in I think March 1976 and was Mae's final TV appearance before she made Sextette her I'll starred final comeback movie! I doubt however that they own the copyright to this show , but would like to think it might turn up at some future point as an extra on a Mae West box set !

Re: The One and Only Shout! Factory Blu-ray Thread
I would buy Tavernier's 'Death Watch' this summer, if it was available as a website exclusive blu-ray. I'm not sure what 'Summer Death Watch' is and I couldn't figure it out via brief searches on Google and IMDb.
May be interested in the Karlson if they add some extras.

Halloween III? Hell yes.
I wonder who's handling it, though? I've got a friend who might be able to find out, so I'll check with him.

Before reading this thread, I was under the impression that Halloween III is going to be a Shout! Factory release.
Or I just ruined a surprise.

I was actually under the impression most of the films released were Sony. With that said, you're right that they haven't done any Universal titles.
As great as that would be, my one complaint with Shout is that they never have subtitles on their titles.

I have it on good authority that Shout is putting these out on BD in Oct:
Halloween II
Halloween III
The Funhouse
Deadly Blessing
Terror Train (which we already knew about)

I've already got the Arrow release for The Funhouse, however, I'm willing to see what Shout does with it; they'll just REALLY have to bring their A-game to top the Arrow release.

If that's true, I'll hold onto my Universal disc of Halloween II for Terror in the Aisles, but I'd love to see Shout remaster the film, as the print used for the Universal release was a bit battered at points. Deadly Blessing is a typically muddled Craven misstep, but I'll likely pick it up regardless, as long as some decent extras are included. I'm not sure how Shout could improve on the Arrow Funhouse disc though, short of including a Hooper commentary track and securing Elizabeth Berridge's participation in some form. Halloween III, of course, will be a must-buy. Since Shout will be releasing a total of eight horror titles this fall, I'm hoping The Kindred will be among the other three.

Halloween III is a really bad film. Not sure why every is always clamoring for this film.
Where the hell is Halloween 4 and 5? Anchor Bay (or whomever holds the rights) needs to get the ball rollings. We've been hearing "This October!!!" for years now.

Halloween III, though suffering from a logic-free script, is infinitely more enjoyable than any of the other Halloween sequels, including II.

IMDB has it at a 4/10 while Halloween IV is a 5.6. Not like thats the most reliable barometer...
Maybe I'll give it another shot. It's probably been a decade or so since my last watch, and I remember it being really bad (save for the "Halloween! Halloween! Six more days Till Halloween!" song).

Oh, it is entirely ludicrous and absurd, but the presence of the always-dependable Tom Atkins, a great Carpenter/Howarth score, and a handful of nasty and unexpected deaths all combine to create a fun, if admittedly nonsensical, B-movie. It's not so much that the film is some sort of masterpiece, it's just that the other sequels are so dreary, mechanical and pointless that one welcomes the refreshing change of pace and tone that Season of the Witch provides. That's why I deemed it 'more enjoyable' as opposed to 'cinematically superior'.
