Great show, but I don't see myself re-watching it again anytime soon. I think I may wait awhile on this. Going to try to really limit TV purchases for stuff I just saw on air.

Love the show and box cover. I will definitely pick this up. I can only hope there will be extended episodes.

One thing I hope will be on BD set will be the 4-5 minute recaps of each episode with Nic Pizzolatto and Cary Fukunaga. They were posted on HBO Go after the episodes aired. They're actually decent little vignettes to help the viewer catch little things they may have missed or misinterpreted.

Wait, how many discs will this have i wonder? 8 1 hour episodes, so at a max 4 discs, maybe 5 if they want to have a seperate disc dedicated to extras. Game of Thrones is a 5 disc set, & was able to get it for 29.99 first week

Probably because even though the show is coming back for another season the cast will be different so there's likely not going to be anything to really tie the first season in with the second season other than the name. HBO tends to release most of their shows close to the start of a new season it seems like otherwise so that's the only reason I can think of why this is coming sooner.

Hope we get a few Woody & Matt commentaries on a couple of episodes.

Yeah HBO shows are always marked up higher than what they retail for. I'm sure release week somewhere will have it for like $35-$40ish.

Maybe. I know there was a time when they were making the windows longer just to "protect" the value of actually subscribing to HBO. Who knows what the current policy is, though.

Strike Back 2 and Banshee 1 were both like that. Granted those both air on Cinemax, but Strike Back 1 had DVDs.

8 Episodes of True Detective trumps 13 episodes of most of their other series, IMHO.

Hopefully, they'll load it up with extras, deleted scenes and commentary tracks.
