Semi-finals N.I.T. bracket of the Video Game Draft Tournament!

Welcome to the N.I.T. bracket (losers bracket) of the Video Game Draft Tournament! 16 DVDTalkers drafted 10 console or portable video games.
Round two has been completed.
Now it is up you, the fine gamers of DVDTalk, to vote on which player has drafted the best collection in this the N.I.T. bracket.

To vote simply post in this thread telling me who you think has the best lineup. Your vote will not count unless you vote on every pair! Your vote will not count if you edit the post where you vote!

Players in the game are encouraged to vote. Optionally, they are also allowed to post to this thread telling everybody why they think you should vote for their collection. I will be giving a “prize” to the winner of this tournament.

So, let the voting begin! Voting ends on Wednesday, December 31st, at the exact time of the timestamp of this post. Match-ups will be listed in post #2.

Good luck to all the participants!

First off, looking at these lists, it is hard to believe we are in the "losers" bracket.

The Bus
1. Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (Xbox 360)
2. Mario Kart 64 (N64)
3. Fallout 3 (PS3)
4. Donkey Kong Country (SNES)
5. Ninja Gaiden Black (Xbox)
6. Burnout Revenge (Xbox 360)
8. Metroid Prime 2 (GC)

vs.

JasonF
1. Bioshock (Xbox 360)
2. Knights of the Old Republic (XBox)
3. Gears of War (Xbox 360)
4. Puzzle Quest (DS)
5. Final Fantasy I (NES)
8. Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando (PS2)
10. Dragon Warrior (NES)

I have to go with Jason here. I am an RPG fan and his list does not disappoint on that front.

cruzness
2. God of War (PS2)
3. Beyond Good and Evil (PS2)
6. Burnout 3 : Takedown - Xbox

vs.

Fandango
1. Chrono Trigger (SNES)
2. Super Mario Kart (SNES)
4. Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction (PS3)
5. Metroid (NES)
6. Bionic Commando (NES)
7. Dragon Quest VIII (PS2)
8. Ikaruga (DC)
9. Dead Rising (Xbox 360)
10. Gunstar Heroes (Genesis)

Easy choice for me. Fandango has some true classics.

Seems a bit silly to me that people who got knocked out in the first round get to play longer than those who got knocked out in the second round.

Anyway, here are my votes:

The Bus vs. Jason F -- Both good lists but Jason had more variety. The Bus lost points by having two Bethesda RPGs on there.

cruzness vs. Fandango -- I haven't even heard of any of the games on Fandango's list.

Ugh.. can I combine each pairs lists and vote for all 4?

I have to give this some thought as both matchup are very close for me.

The Bus, I said I'd vote for you in all rounds. Sorry, I lied.
You have Fallout 3, but JasonF has Bioshock and Gears of War. I can't believe he lost with that combination. Besides that he has KOTOR, FF,R&C, Pikmin. Again, I can't believe he lost. Oh and you get Fallout in the wrong console.

cruzness
Fandango list is really good, but I like cruzness list better. I even didn't vote for me last round.

Jason F - I've never owned an XBox. Just because of this, The Bus has three games I've never played. Jason F has three XBox games, but one of them is on PS3 (Bioshock) and another made it to me on the PC (KotoR)... and they are gooood. Metal Gear Solid 2 (liked all the MGS) and the RPGs - Final Fantasy and Dragon Warrior - put him over the top. Pikmin, as I've said before, is a clutch pick and really just some added sauce.

Fandango - This one's neck and neck until cruzness takes Assassin's Creed with pick #7. Meanwhile Fandango's in the middle of a Bionic Commando, DQVIII and Ikaruga streak. He also has yet to pull Gunstar Heroes out of his bag. Game over.

reasons for my votes from above (don't count me twice orange!)

Bus vs. Jason F. - this one was tough for me making it a tight race. Both have a great group of games, and Bus has two of my all time favorite racers, but in the end Jason F. nudges ahead because of the Bioshock-Gears-Pikmin-Puzzle Quest combo.

Cruzness vs. Fandango - I didn't let it sway early voting, but cruzness' Playstation list is weighing heavy on me since the last round. The only non PS games(PD excluded) are multiplatform leading me to believe they too would have been PS choices if he had the slots(which would be 9 PS games 1 other). It's not that I have anything against PS, because the list itself is very solid. Another ding is that gaming didn't begin in 1998. That puts Fandango at a distinct advantage off the bat. It doesn't hurt that he has a bunch of games I loved like Mario Kart, Dead Rising, Ratchet & Metroid. Even the ones I haven't played have an undeniable cult following like Ikaruga, Chrono T., & Gunstar Heroes. In the end, it wasn't close for me, Fandango gets it.
