Favorite Tim Burton film?
He seems to have lost his way a bit over the last few years, but Tim Burton has certainly directed some gems in his time. What is your favorite Tim Burton film? I know a lot of people liked Big Fish, but I had to exclude a third film.
Sweeney Todd
Big Fish
Sleepy Hollow
Mars Attacks!
Ed Wood
Batman Returns
Edward Scissorhands
Batman
Beetle Juice
Pee-wee's Big Adventure
Other - please specify (Planet of the Apes, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory or Big Fish)
I voted for Pee-wee's Big Adventure - one of the few childhood favorites of mine that I still enjoy watching. A charming, delightfully inventive film with just the right amount of quirkiness.

I love just about everything he's done. The only two I'm really not crazy about are Mars Attacks! and Planet of the Apes, which I only own to complete the collection. They're not even that bad, just nowhere near as great as the rest of his films. If I had to pick just one favorite, which is very difficult BTW, it would have to be Sleepy Hollow, with Beetlejuice a close second.

Since I haven't seen Sleepy Hollow, Sweeney Todd, and Ed Wood, I'll go for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I do enjoy Beetlejuice and Edward Scissorhands, but I felt that CCF is better.
Rest of his movies are meh.

Very Hard Question. I LOVE Batman Returns (which is what I picked as my fav.), Edward Scissorhands, Ed Wood, Sweeney Todd, and Sleepy Hollow. Big Fish is really good as well.
I F***ing HATE CHARLIE and the Choc. Factory!!!!

I have been pretty meh about almost everything he has ever done, although I have hated very little of it. His films are stylish. The production design on his films tends to be amazing. I give him credit for being a very unique voice in the world of film. His work just leaves me cold though.
For me, it is Beetlejuice by a mile.

Edward Scissorhands has some of my favorite movie shots of all time. The scene of Edward working on the ice angel with Kim dancing through the snowflakes he's creating... Elfman's score... it's just beautiful.

Batman. That movie "wow"-ed me in 1989....and still does.

I second that Rob. I will see anything Burton does. He's one of my all-time favorite directors. That said, "Sleepy Hollow" is my favorite". Followed by "Edward Scissorhands" and then "Pee-Wee's Big Adventure".
BTW, has anyone see the "Edward Scissorhands" play? AMAZING!

I actually hate "Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory," so I wasn't entirely sure I even wanted to see Burton's version. It turned out that I greatly enjoyed it. I think "Big Fish" might be his best work to date, though I absolutely love the atmosphere of "Sleepy Hollow." Still, like tommyp007 said, "Batman" was a major event in my world and that's what got my vote. Anyone else ever see the "Aladdin and His Wonderful Lamp" episode of "Faeirie Tale Theatre" he directed? Wicked weird!

Ed Wood, no contest. Johnny Depp is brilliant. Martin Landau, despite defeating Samuel L. Jackson's iconic performance in Pulp Fiction, is vulgar, excessively hilarious perfection. Bill Murray's baptism...priceless.
Batman is a close second. Even after Nolan reinvented the character, it's a massively entertaining film and infinitely fun to watch.
