Re: Region-Free BD Player: Momitsu BDP-899?

Now you can make a region-free BD player in a computer with 3 BD players for slightly above $100. Nwewgg has this OEM drive ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827135205 )for $40, minus $10 off using code BTEZZZS28. Total for three drives is $108.
Still, you have to factor in the price for software, since this drive is OEM and doesn't come with PowerDVD9. But if you already have a BD drive with software around, then for $72 you upgrade your system to region-free (if you have two more SATA connectors).

Hi:

In the manual page 22, 7-4.
the default pass word is 6666

Also you can reset the player set up.
It is in the BDP-799 set up menu.

Best Regards,
Momitsu Support

Sure enough... 6666 works and I've turned the parental control off. And yes, the pasword was written in the maual on said page in a tiny font; I would have never found it on my own!

This info saved what is left of my hair! My thanks for this post. Now where can I get a owners manual for the 799? I understand HKFLIX is no more. Who sells Momitsu now?

considering their website is gone, I'd say Momitsu is no more, or under a new name somewhere else.

I didn't want to create a new thread so sorry for the off topic post. Are there any reasonably priced blu-ray players that can easily be changed to region free? I have a region free dvd player and all that required me to do was punch in a few numbers. Are the Blu's the same way?

You have to punch in the numbers each time you power it on and want to change regions.

Is there a specific model/brand that is pretty decent?
