Lost interest as it went along... I ended up skipping a few chapters towards the end. It wasn't bad but I just couldn't get into it. It felt "distant" in it's approach, which I'm sure was the intent - but it doesn't make for the best viewing experience imo.

Just watched this last night and I thought it was brilliant. Really nice film. Probably my best blind buy of the year so far. I would like to see a sequel, with a new case for Brendan.

If any of you would like to try and find this used for really cheap, then check out your local GameStop/EB Games. I just went in there and I found Brick in the $5.99 section (or 3 for $10). I did the 3 for $10 deal and bought Brick (for my cousin, been telling him to watch this), Never Been Kissed, and Kevin James: Sweat the Small Stuff (yes, I'm serious). I used my 10% off discount card, so the total for all three DVDs ended up being only $9.xx.

I'm pretty sure that all of the prices are the same for all GameStop and EB Games stores, so if your local store has Brick, it'll only cost you $5.99, or less if you do the 3 for $10 deal.

I really liked this, yet for the first 15 minutes or so I wavered between turning it off. Took a while to get into the "rhythm" of it I guess, because by the end I was totally sucked in. Major props for Lukas Haas, his character was like some seedy high school version of a Batman villain or something. Creepy.

Just got done seeing this film tonight and thought it was extremely good. The dialogue is quick and entertaining, the characters are very well drawn out and rememerable, and the combination of slick music, sharp cinematography and talented actors really hammered this film home as one of my recent favorites from the last year.

Solid A rating from this end. Definitely an amazing sleeper.

I found it @ eb games as well. Picked it up with the Kumars @ no 42 and spaceballs. The EB Games in Fairfield, CA is the only one that will let me use my Barnes & Noble employee discount and my edge card together. It came to 8 something. I saw Brick a few weeks ago and loved it. The Veronica Mars comparisons are fair. VM is just a little more accessible to a wider audience, which is funny since it's low-rated.

I'm late but I just saw this on dvd last weekend. It really helps to have the subtitles on because the noir speak went by too fast for me. But, yes, I really enjoyed this movie and will recommend it to other film buffs.
I thought it reminded me alot of different noir films including maltese falcon, chinatown and even the big lebowski.

What a great film.

Man it's refreshing to come across a film like this, that I had neglected for whatever reason. I knew about it, saw good reviews years back, just never pulled the trigger.

I couldn't have enjoyed this more.

Yeah, it really surprised me. Especially that it worked with the setting, really made it refreshing in a way.
