I am new to the DC. I would like to try out the RE series but I don't know if I should start right away with RE:CV or should I start with an earlier addition? I guess two things come to mind when considering this question...
1. Will I even like the game? If not, why spend the $ for the newest one...
2. Will I be missing too much out of the story line/plot if I just jump right into the last game?
Where should I begin????

I would start off with the very first RE on the playstation.....
Hell....you can get two and three(nemesis) for the Dreamcast for a total of $40 for both.
You should be able to find a used copy or even new copy of the first RE on ebay...or maybe in the store.
Definitely go in order!!!
BTW....Code Name Veronica is awesome on the Dreamcast!!! I will not be buying the PS2 version...just not much added to it to make it worth another purchase of basically the same game.

Yeah I just got rid of RESIDENT EVIL 2 and 3 and my PSX1 because they are now on DREAMCAST and I bought PSX2.
I will buying them for $19 on Dreamcast.
I'm not good at these games and I lack the patience required to sit on my ass for 4 hours playing it.
But I stll love the creepy atmosphere the RESIDENT EVIL series has.

I love the RE series, but I would start with 2. Part 1 had a few qualities that I hated(not enough herbs, tapes, bullets) and was way too repetitive in the beginning. Plus, it's really dated(graphics wise and horrible voice acting) at this point. Part 2 is a much better game and with part 3 it fills in the plot points you may miss by skipping part 1.

Loved the first one for its riddle solving. part two had very simple riddles to figure out. it was a no brainer, but had way more bullets flying.

Well I don't have a playstation so I guess I will start with RE 2. If I like it, I suppose I will move on to Nemesis and then to the infamous VERONICA!
Thanks for the response! Now I'm off to bargain hunt... Any ideas where to start besides the obvious Ebay and half.com?
