I've been seeing the PS2 for sale at my Target store but can't warrant enough reason to own it. The thing is the games or lack thereof. What games are good now, and how many are there? I already have a DVD player and still enjoy my Dreamcast. Should I get a PS2?

I say its Worth it! SSX, Shadow of Destiny and Onmisuha are the best games on the system and they'll keep u entertained till the rest of the good games start rolling in.

Right now you can get a few games to hold you over until the bigger games come out like Metal Gear Solid 2 (Which will own everything ), the 2 new Medal of Honor games which look amazing as hell also, and a slew of other games. Right now all I have are sports games and I'm completely happy with my PS2

If you don't have a ps1 you might be able to tide yourself over until the other stuff comes out. I have a modded ps1, and dreamcast among other things. I paid 283 for my ps2 and I think I am still short of calling it worth it, but Metal Gear, and Turismo3 will make it up, everything else will be extra.

PS2 now is like Dreamcast a year ago.. very few good games. Good ones will be out soon, I'd guess around xmas time we'll start to see better stuff. But, that's not a good enough reson for me to get a PS2.. I walked into a Babages in the mall and they had a bunch in stock, was gonna buy it till my friend talked me out of it. After giving it a lot of thought, I'm just gonna keep my dreamcast and then get an Xbox when that comes out.

I personally can't wait for this one. I couldn't get it for my PC because of my crappy video card, but the PS2 version will be a welcome addition.

I actually had the PC version but just do not have the COMPUTER time necessary to play!!! My wife works at night which is when I have time to play so this is great news!!! I am sure it will be close in video quality!!!
My computer downstairs that I could use is unable to run the software also!!!
But it runs the first three well enough!!! Man....what a great series of games!!!

I just bought it(PSX2) Saturday for $158(traded in a bunch a swag).
So far, I have KENGO and KESSEN and they are ok.
I'm hoping some other cool games will come out soon but overall I'm cool with the purchase of PSX2.
Dreamcast was great and still is, but suck-egga's(sega) half baked support of DC made me remember why SONY RULES!!!!

But the modchip right now is so unstable and you have to do a swap trick. IMO, not worth it to chip it up as of now

Speaking of Code Veronica way up there, the biggest reason (supposedly) to get Code Veronica (especially if you own the DC version) is that there is a Devil May Cry demo that will come with it. Devil May Cry is being severely hyped, which could be a good or bad thing.
