Let me run this by you, please tell me if you've experienced this or if you know what I'm doing wrong.

When I try to load a PS2 game in my brand new PS2 console (following the instructions in the manual) I ALWAYS get the "Please load a Playstation 2 Compatable Disc" screen. I then have to remove the disc and put in an old PS1 game and let that load. After it has loaded, I take that out and put the PS2 game back in and it finally loads.

Sound familiar???

I'm thinking I'll have to take this thing back to the store.

I think you need to get it replaced.

A co-worker of mine and I both have PS2's and we don't need to go through those contortions. Take it back and get a new one! QUICKLY!!!!!!

Has to be a PS2 problem. Exchange it.
