Well ive had a PS2 for about a short time now and ive tried playing the PS1 games on it but ive never tried playing any DVDs on it becuase i heard that you can only play the DVDs that say PS2 Compatible on it. Well yesterday i gave it a go, and it played about 5 of my DVDs Perfectly, no skips, no sound distortion and a beautiful picture. I popped in Kalifornia, Bedazzled, Gladiator and Bring It On and they all worked great. I also watched the entire Blair Witch 2 movie on it also, and it was cool. Ok, if this is the case, why do people say that you can only play DVDs on PS2s that have the PS2 Compatible sticker on it, like i saw the sticker on that movie Whipped. Whats the deal guys, drop some info....

That is a bunch of bull that your movies need to say PS2 compatible!!! That was marketing hype for studios in order to promote sales on specific dvds!!!! You can play whatever dvd suits you at the present moment in the PS2!!!

The PS2 compatible sticker is a marketing ploy and totally irrelevent. The DVD capability of the PS2 in essence is the same as a regular stand alone player and functions the same way. Just ignore those stickers as they don't really mean any thing.

Personally I buy game systems to play games on. If I wanted to watch movies I would buy a dvd player. I hope we start seeing some more good games come out for this system.
