I used to get every system when they first came out. But games these days just aren't the same. I havn't bought a new system since N64. I learned my lesson about new systems with the 3DO and its one controller.

I used to, but not anymore. I got the Atari 2600, 7800, Nintendo, Master System, Genesis and SNES when they first came out. I waited on the Playstation, N64, Dreamcast and Playstation 2. I do still have to get video and computer games when they first come out though, can't tear myself away from that.

I have a strong interest in getting the X-box but I'm certainly going to wait a month after the initial release to find out how good the system really is and if it has a lot of bugs.

I used never to do that, as it took me about 2 years to get a Playstation once it had come out. But with the Playstation 2, I got it the day it came out. My brother used to get systems as soon as they came out, of course he also ended with Genesis, 32X, Sega CD, and Saturn. I think he has finally learned his lesson.

I usually purchase them right away. (funds pending) Of course that's only if I know they will do well. I do alot of researching and stuff.

The only system I've gotten at launch day was N64, I had to get Mario 64. I'll probably pick up a Gamecube at launch too, since it will likely have a new Mario game, might get a Gameboy Advance at launch as well. I got my Dreamcast a couple months after launch, after I saw that it was selling well and there were a lot of good games planned. I will probably take the same approach with the X-box. The PS2 I will definitely wait until a price drop, if I get one at all. There going to have to prove to me that they will have several good games, that aren't going to be available for any other system, before I even consider buying one.

I usually buy them if worth the purchase and if the price is right!!! Xbox is a possibility as long as they keep the price tag around $300...no more or I will wait for a price drop!!! Gamecube is a definite wait and see attitude for me with the experience I had with the N64 which was not much of an experience!!! I believe the Gamecube will be priced right unlike the Xbox which I believe will be in the $400 neighborhood if this system is actually going to be HDTV compatible as recently mentioned!!!

I didn't buy a SNES until they were $99 after about 3 years. I still don't own a N64, PSX, or DC. I think I may get a Gamecube, however I wasn't all that impressed with Zelda 64 or Majora's Mask. They were fun, but they just didn't hold my interest.

Funny, how I can still have more fun at Zelda II for NES than for Majora's Mask for N64.

I bought the Playstation and Dreamcast for $99. I might be willing to pick up the PS2 for $149 but we'll see. I've got plenty of replay value left in the games on those systems so there's no rush for me.

I usually wait and see before I buy a new console to see if there are any titles that I am interested in.

Purchased the NES when it was launched with the little robot and a light gun. Didn't buy another launch system until the N64. I did buy the Dreamcast when it launched and was very happy with it. I decided to go ahead and get the PS2 when it launched and I'm not so happy with that decision. It will probably be $199 by the time there is anything worth playing on it.

only system I have bought at launch is Dreamcast, only reason there is cause I didn't have the funds for the others.

The reason I bought the Dreamcast is because of NFL2K, truely my new favorite football game series. Hopefully they move that to another system.

Never bought a system at launch, but then again, the only two that I personally have owned (as opposed to played on other people's) are the GB and N64. GB I bought about six months after it first came out (and, apart from a slight screen glitch, still works perfectly!) but the N64 I only bought after I got hooked on Goldeneye at a friend's house. Depending on what games are available at launch for the Gamecube, and of course what the price is like, I might buy it as soon as I can get my hands on one. No particular desire to buy a PS2 at all, though, and I'm not exactly eager about the X-Box...

I think I'd have to see what the system could do - or if there was a game I absolutely HAD to have right then then I'd get it as soon as I could. PSX2 doesn't seem all that different from the Dreamcast - and especially not in the $300-$500 range...

The most recent system I've bought has been the Game Boy Color. I bought that and a couple games on a whim a few months or so after it came out.

As for the Game Boy Advance, I'm getting that opening day. I might pick up a Gamecube or X-Box depending on what types of games I see for them.

Only system I brought when they first came out was the Dreamcast. I brought 2 of them thanks to the Value America deal, thank you Value America.

The only system I've bought on the launch day (or even in the first 6-8 months of a systems release) was my Dreamcast, and thats mainly coz it was $200 and I traded in some old PSX games to defray most of the cost. Still haven't bought a PS2, I figure they'll constantly tweak it like the PS1, and I'll just wait till they work out the kinks (and get soem better games).

I always wait until the price goes down a bit. You never know how the system will turn out, or if it'll keep going.
