Can someone please tell me why the f**k is this game so hard? Jesus christ! Dont even bother wasting space in your innovatory by picking up a pistol. The damn thing is useless. You shoot those zombie bastards ten times and they keep walking as if they were the T-1000! And if you're being attacked by dogs? Forget about it! You might as well just reset the game right there.

Buy this game.......you people are telling me that you may not buy a game because it is too hard!!!??? As the reader poll from EGM magazine listed.....
Game of the Year for the Dreamcast....
Shenmue with RE Code Name in second place!!!
This game is great not only from a graphics standpoint but also the actual game itself which is incredible!!!
THX 1138....
Is this your first RE game that you have played??? If it is not, then I do not understand why you are having so much trouble with it....as notoriousaurus stated.....the knife in this game is much more powerful then in past RE games!!! Practice with the knife then start over....

it's way too hard! what fun is stabbing zombies? I gave up about half way through it because I never had any ammo and it got too frustrating. it's a really popular game, but I just don't like it. I had no problem with the other RE games on PSX, but this one was just too tough. I'd buy something else, unless you really have nothing to play. I guess it is worth the 20 bucks now - maybe cheaper?

The ammo situation gets better as you go along. Just make sure you use the ammo judiciously and that you don't HAVE to fight the zombies. And there are a few big setpieces in the game where you just get to go nuts (at least that's how I timed it) with the heavy weapons.
Very good game. Prior to Code Veronica, I had only played RE1 for about 40 minutes on the Saturn & PSX. That crap was enough to keep me away from the series until Code Veronica. CV is a masterpiece game. The graphics range from very good to unbelievable near-CGI quality (outside the doors of the mansion on the hill). It's really not that hard. Just make sure you make a lot of saves instead of saving over the same few saves - There are a few spots where you may decide to go back and play the game differently (ie, stockpile more powerful weapons).

Is it me....or are our younger gamers of today clueless when it comes to that satisfaction you obtain by beating a game no matter what part of a game is too easy or too hard????
I notice this with my step-son who I just feel is absolutely lazy....as soon as he comes through the front door with a new game....he is on the internet trying to find codes for the game!!!! Can someone please explain this for me...??? I do not have a problem with someone who wants to use codes etc once they have beaten the game once by themselves....but what the hell is the point of buying a brand new game and as soon as you insert this game into your system you are cheating with some type of code? I am not attacking anyone here....just amazes me with some of the earlier posts in this thread with people saying this game is too hard.....keep playing until you conquer the game......isn't that what it is all about??? Or is it simply about immediate gratification without any type of work being put into a game at all?

I use codes really though for a very last resort, I try to get as far as I can first.
It would take the fun out of a game by looking for codes right off when you first buy it, I agree.

Awesome game, and yes it is difficult but what is the fun in beating an easy game. At least the game doesn't cheat like NFL2k1 does.

Yes, I've played Resident Evil 2 and 3. I know how to play these type of games.
Dont get me wrong. I f**king love 'Code Veronica'. Its by far the best Resident Evil game made to date. Graphics are amazing. Cut scenes are incredible. Sound is badass. I highly recommend this game to any RE fans. This is the game 'Evil Dead: Hail to the King' shouldve been. 'Code Veronica' is a MUST OWN if you have a DC. I've gotten pretty far now since my last post. You just need to get a little used to these controls and figure out things that'll make the game easier.
I really like using the knife instead of a gun. The knife kicks so much ass in CV.

Good Job!!! Just hang in there...this game is worth every bit of your time!!! Not really satisfying when one uses cheat codes to play a game that they have not beaten on their own yet!!! To each their own......
The ammo and weapon situation gets better....I do agree that you have to conserve more in this game....sometimes you just need to decide on where you really need to use the ammo.....you can run around some situations without firing a shot!!!

I did get frustrated at one point in this game, the area where you had to fight the guy on the airplane. Of course I got to that point without enough ammo to win the fight and had to restart the entire game.
Also, I just hate having limited inventory space. Crucial items, like keys and stuff, should probably be kept in a special place where they are always available. It sucks getting to a certain point and figuring out that you left a key in the chest and have to retrace your steps back to that point.
