Now that Sega is getting out of hardware, which system do you think will be the next one to get all the 2-D fighting games like Street Fighter? We've yet to see one on PS2, so you have to wonder about Sony's position on 2-D.
Marvel vs. Capcom 3 on X-Box? Street Fighter 4 on Gamecube? Will 2-D just die out completely? I need these questions answered - so what do think?

There's roughly 50 bazillion Street Fighter games on every system since super-nintendo
Capcom, if they're smart, will continue to develop for every system. Microsoft's exclusive-developer scheme is suck and I hope designers don't go for it.

To be honest, Joe Public doesn't want 2-D games any more; platformers and beat 'em ups haven't had it so good since the days of the Super Nintendo. After all, games designers aren't gonna want to take a kick-ass next generation console and write a game that looks and plays like an old 16-bit game, only with pretty graphics. Shame, really, because the old 2-D games played really well
Only one way to go; emulation.

That's not really a concern, since I only use arcade sticks to play fighting games anyways. You can pull it off if you have an Ascii pad or something, but controllers now don't lend themselves well to fighters.
But my point of this thread was that the last 2 Sega systems have been the definitive platforms for 2-D fighters...The Saturn with it's 4-meg RAM cart, and now the Dreamcast. But with no more Sega systems, which system do you think will pick up where the DC left off? I really don't see Capcom's traditional fighters dying out anytime soon, especially with the popularity of games like Marvel vs. Capcom 2, Capcom vs. SNK, and Street Fighter III.
