I thought the original game was great (I had it #9 on my game of the year of 2021) but definitely had room for improvement and this looks like a gigantic step up in scope. Really looking forward to it.

I love the look and the music of the first game. However, the game itself bored me to tears and I left it unfinished. I suspect I'll feel the same way about this one.

Kinda in the same boat. About the first game at least.

Yeah, the first game was an absolute knockout, but the combat in particular wasn't really my speed. I did finish it, but I'll admit to knocking the difficulty down all the way.

Re: KENA: Scars of Kosmora

Yeah the first game was gorgeous as hell but other than that it was a pretty shallow gaming experience. It had pretty much zero story or character development until you meet the "final" boss and then they give you a twenty minute cut scene exposition dump to finally explain what you've been doing for the last 15-20 hours. At that point, I don't care and I'm hammering that "skip" button. After that "final" boss the game decides to ditch the adventure game that you've spent the last 15 hours playing and turned it into a boss rush game? Bizarre choice. I was taking them down okay but after 3 to 4 straight bosses I just didn't care enough to finish. That's not the game I had, for the most part, been enjoying (lack of story aside).

So maybe I'll check this out down the line, but it's not high on the list right now.

Very excited for this. First game was a top 5 for me from last gen, so this one is right up my alley.

I'm really hooked on the first game now. the only thing is the ambiguity of where to go sometimes. i get there eventually and further the story along, but it's by going round and round to the same areas before i can find a Rot or other key locations.
