5 Favorite games since 2015?
A lot has come out over these past 10 years. Some games good, some not so much. So since 2015 is just arbitrary, didn’t want to make all time since I’m sure I started 100 of those…
Control (2019)
Doom: Eternal (2020)
God of War (2018)
Ratchet & Clank (2018)
Resident Evil 4: Remake (2023)

Re: 5 Favorite games since 2015?
In no specific order:
Hotline Miami 2 - I like the original more, but this game fits in the timeline of the thread. It ramps up the difficulty in some sections, and arguably tells a more compelling story, even if it’s ultimately just filler for going around and shooting stuff efficiently.
Celeste - Easily my favorite 2D performer of all time. It’s perfect in every way, except the final level in the expansion that came out. Phenomenal soundtrack.
The Last of Us, Part 2 - I enjoyed the first game a lot, but I think this one is the best narrative stories in any game. It is exactly what a sequel to that first game needed to be.
Nier: Automata - Ridiculous invisible walls aside, this is another game I adore from top to bottom. The story is bleak, the humor great, and the gameplay can be as complex or as simple as you want it to be. Best use of ‘multiple endings’ in my experience, but arguably to a fault because some people genuinely missed out on the greatness if they called it quits at the first sign of end credits. Just writing about it makes me want to pick it up again.
Life is Strange - glad to see this mentioned by others here. I still remember downloading the demo thinking it’d be some cheesy teenage drama game, and yeah, it’s that, but it’s so fucking fantastic and was a perfect antidote to the stale gameplay of the TellTale games around that time. That first big needle drop, when Max puts on her headphones and walks through the hallway made me realize this game was something special. The vinyl soundtrack is one of my most cherished - and rare - possessions.
Honorable mentions:
Ghost of Tsushima - probably my favorite open world map and overall gameplay.
Starfield - better than it gets credit for, but as with all Bethesda games, the side quests are more compelling than the main story.
Ori and the Blind Forest - someday I’ll finish the sequel!
Katana Zero - like a side scrolling Hotline Miami.
Deathloop - fantastic game, weak ending.
Elden Ring - sunk 80+ hours in the first week alone. Have yet to tackle the expansion.
Lies of P - the best non-FROM soulslike game, but terrible final boss.
Undertale - it’s great.

I’m pretty confident in my favorite four:
Pikmin 4
Tears of the Kingdom
Witcher 3
Bloodborne
But I’d say it’s a four-way tie for number five.
Spider-Man 2
Horizon Zero Dawn
Talos Principle 2
Star Wars Outlaws
Pikmin 4
Tears of the Kingdom
Witcher 3
Bloodborne
But I’d say it’s a four-way tie for number five.
Spider-Man 2
Horizon Zero Dawn
Talos Principle 2
Star Wars Outlaws

Doom (2016) (Just fantastic!)
Doom:Eternal (Wasn't keen on the platforming, but still enjoyed it)
The Witness (Environment puzzles were amazing)
Inside (That blob... Seriously?
)
Baba Is You (Just such a bizarre concept)
Honorable mention to GTA V and Talos Principle 2 (Would've been higher, but the lengthy traveling knocked it down a peg)

Re: 5 Favorite games since 2015?
it's a good game, but not top 5 material. i never said it was anything grand or supreme, it's just a good game that i enjoy, that's all. there are so many games i've played that i could put in there, but i picked my first thoughts, my top picks.
