This is almost certainly one of the biggest indie games we have left coming out this year so I thought it was due it's own thread. Looks fantastic and I can't wait to play it. Also going to be included at launch if you have PlayStation Plus Premium.

I thought about doing a thread on this. I did post the trailer in another thread.
It looks fun. It's not a 'full game' - I think it's a $20 indie, but looks very imaginative and unique. Looking forward to it, as you note, free with PS Plus Extra/ Premium.

What a moronic response.
There is a difference between a full $60 major studio game and a $20 indie game isn't there? There's a reason it's priced the way it is and it's the length it is. There's a difference in length, levels, design. It wasn't at all a statement that it wouldn't be a good game or of high quality-- some recent $20-$30 indies like Dave the Diver, Power Wash Simulator, and Hades have been some of the best games of recent years. They're just not full retail games. I even put my statement in quotation marks because I knew you'd jump down my throat. Sure enough you still did, despite my qualifications of what I meant.
I thought some people would like to know that it will be a shorter digital game and not a full $60-$70 game like Astro Bot is.

What terminology should I use? Remember I did use quotation marks for a reason.

During my hands-on time with this PS5 action platformer, I was quickly blown away. I admit that I didn’t play much of 2018’s Astro Bot Rescue Mission on PSVR or spend more than a few hours with the PS5 pack in Astro’s Playroom, despite loving the look of both. But after experiencing a solid chunk of the mascot’s first full-fledged outing, I’m convinced the Mario-inspired formula isn’t just a fun distraction and could easily be the next great PlayStation Studios franchise.
Did you like Astro’s Playroom? I sure did. In fact, the meanest thing I can say about it is that there wasn’t enough of it – I finished its five levels and final boss battle within a single evening. But as if in response to my hunger for more of PlayStation’s newest mascot, developer Team Asobi has opened the floodgates in Astro Bot, a game that looks to be everything I loved about the Playroom, but galaxies more of it.
Astro Bot is finally getting its own full-length game this fall. Until now the character has been relegated to two small demo games designed to show off PlayStation's unique hardware, namely the first PlayStation VR headset and the PS5's DualSense controller. Simply titled Astro Bot, the new full game will have far more content than the first two games and a $60 price to match

We don't know anything about the length of The Plucky Squire, do we? I can't find any previews that delve into the scale or duration...I see one person guessing that it's 8-10 hours, and another outlet estimating "more than 10 hours", which, to my mind anyway, is a "full game".
I'm sure it's semantics and that something is almost certainly being interpreted differently than intended, but I will admit that when I saw "It's not a 'full game' - I think it's a $20 indie", I took it as "it's cute and imaginative, but it's not a real game and isn't worth more than $20". I'm not saying that's what you meant, just how it read to me, and perhaps The Questyen had the same take I did.
For all I know, it might literally be a $20 indie.
(I don't see pricing on Steam or PSN yet; just wishlists, as well as physical copies that may have a premium attached.)
I think if this element of the discussion is to continue, it might be better in a separate thread (since it seems like it's more about indie vs. blockbusters, smaller scale vs. large scale, etc. rather than The Plucky Squire uniquely), and ideally with a less confrontational tone than we've seen here.

I'm not going to quote all that but now you're confusing your own terminology. Before you were talking about full AAA big budget games and indie games being different now your example is Astro Bot which IS a Sony first party game just like it's predecessors. Saying that Astro Bot is going to have more content then Astro's Playroom a pack-in title meant to show off the controller was expected and not relevant to The Plucky Squire (which is a full retail game no matter if you think it is or not). Your earlier examples make even less sense because for example Powerwash Simulator is not an indie nor is Dave the Diver since they are both published by major publishers but also both games have more length then Astro Bot by a decent margin.
I've never once watched a game trailer and said to myself "I wonder if that is a full retail game or an indie?". Games come in all different price points, lengths, budgets. If you think less about one over the other then ok. At this point I don't think you're going to get it so I'm fine stopping this conversation.

My point in using Astro Bot as an example was only that it's common to use the terminology of 'full game' to designate a 20 hour, $60 game from a $20 indie game without denigrating those indies or smaller-scale games.
We both agree that Plucky Squire looks amazing and original and fun. Let's just move on.

I'm looking forward to this game as much as I am
looking forward to TLoZ: Echoes of Wisdom (Switch) and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle (PS5).
My take on what’s been said is hidden below. Read it if you want to.

Comes out next Tuesday. Here's a brief overview video
That video says it's an 8-10 hour game. Sounds perfect for me.
Still no announced price yet.

ACG is a pretty tough critic. I try not to buy games on release day because I'm cheap, but I bought a PS5 copy. I had $35 in PlayStation Store credit from cashing out my Sony Rewards points that I used to get it. I'll get to playing it eventually after i finish Astro Bot and finally get burnt out from my dynasty team on College Football 25.

I went back and forth, but I ultimately got it for the Switch.
I won't have time to play it until this weekend, but I wanted to support this game right out of the gate.

I played through the first two chapters last night. Loving it so far.
I got it for the Switch and it has a little bug (and no, it’s not one of Sam’s beetles). Sometimes, when I whacking bushes and trees, a lightbulb will get stick to me and follow me before I swing my sword again to collect it. It’s a minor thing but quite noticeable.
Cant wait to play through more soon.

I wrapped it up today and ended up being pretty disappointed in it. The art design and 2D/3D hook is cool but the gameplay is pretty bland and most of the minigames were a chore (there is a stealth minigame you do 3 times in the last couple hours that are about as unfun as I've played in a videogame). By the halfway point I was just forcing myself to finish since I knew it wasn't too long. Not terrible or anything just in the C+/C range if I was going to rate it.
