I think the grips are perfect. They fit so well and only cover the same blue area on handle. It is just swell. I’m comfortable with them and that’s it. In my eyes, takes nothing away. But, just mo.

Don’t be like that, bruh.

Seriously, I was like you once. Always posting stuff and people would put me through the wringer with their comments. I used to take offense. Then I stopped posting (well mostly) dumb stuff.

So chill. You thought Decker was making fun of you too. Nobody dislikes you here. That’s not what DVD Talk is.

Re: Astro Bot DualSense controller

Lizard grips are my favorite. I don't know how well they will work on a controller like that which already has some kind of textured insert on the grip areas, but on regular Dualsenses, they are absolute perfection.

I love the diamond texture Xbox controllers so I wonder if I’d like grips for the PS5 one.

they don’t touch the white textured part which really isn’t textured for a comfortable grip feel. The grips merely cover the blue handle and the back of controller for a perfect fit. Not always easy to get on, but well worth it once u do.

they are like $14. No harm in trying. I think it makes the controller so much more comfortable when playing.

I was talking about the blue part.

They leave no residue whatsoever too if you need to remove them, which I had to do on the last controller I had to return to Best Buy recently.

Re: Astro Bot DualSense controller

This is true. I took one off my purple to put the thin purple and no residue at all. Had some spots here and there but I just used the sticky side of the old grip to mop those up.

The blue part is as slippery as the rest of controller. No texture there.

I barely play my PS5 though. So I don't ever feel any discomfort. I think I hadn't played my PS5 for 5 months before I fired up Astro Bot. I love the system, I just like the feel of the Xbox controller better (although the PS5 controller is far superior in what it can do), and Gamepass is great. I only do Sony exclusives.

Re: Astro Bot DualSense controller

I have the Elite Xbox controller and while it has all those features, I just love the feel of that controller the most. I have the Starfield controller and it’s grippy but pales in comparison to the heft and comfort of the Elite or whatever they call it.

I have both of those too. I prefer the feel of the Elite, but the rubber grips are peeling in the corners and the right stick has developed some drift and the right bumper barely works half the time now. Kinda sucks for those reasons. Not sure I’d buy another one again.

even though I do not play Xbox too much anymore, I still feel the elite controller is the best on the market. I keep it as my back up now just to preserve it. If/when I play an Xbox game I will use the Elite. The Starfield one just feels too light and small compared to Elite.

Amazon just sent a confirm-you-still-want-this-or-we're-cancelling-it email due to "supply chain issues". Keep an eye out. Although they supposedly won't start cancelling until October 8th, and hopefully they'll ship these out before then.

those wrinkles would trigger me I think. Still a beautiful controller but looks wise the previous picture looks better to me.

oh trust me, those wrinkles do a number on my OCD as well, but I just lightly took some parts off, pulled the wrinkles out and straightened it up the grips so they don’t look hideous and now it’s 99% perfect.

I wonder why they didn't make the controller match the game.

I almost bought an elite but I heard bad things about it. At least the "cheaper" one.

Re: Astro Bot DualSense controller

Like what kinda things? Frankly, that’s all I’ve ever use when I play Xbox. It just feels better than any controller for any system. I’ve never had a single complaint and I’ve been using since they came out.

Maybe discuss other controllers for different consoles in another thread.

For those who still want one :

And because OB's rubber grips offend my eyes, here's what it looks like out of the box. Nice mix of glossy and matte.

^ why do they offend? all they do is cover up the already blue handles. doesn't seem like a big deal to me...

Re: Astro Bot DualSense controller

And if the regular controllers are really raising in retail price by 5 bucks, it's even more of a deal.
