I'll continue my trend of only buying 2K or Madden when a local team player is on the cover. I can finally retire 2k18 with Kyrie as a Celtic.

No thanks. After the disaster that was 2K24, 2K won't be getting any more of my money. They nickel and dime you to death. Even more than EA and that's a tall order to fill. It's a shame too. NBA 2K was always one of my must have games every year.

I have to disagree with that. The badge regression alone made it a non starter for me.

Confirmed that the $150 version will once again come with a year of league pass.

How does the bundled league pass work?
I already have a few months of league pass (also thanks to Jayson Tatum) leftover from last year so can I just add on to that, or is it just for the calendar year?

I believe LP is month to month, so you should be able to stack it to whatever you have left. Not 100% though.

Not sure if it's available everywhere, but Target has a bundle of the PS5 slim and this game for 499. In case anyone was planning on buying both sometime soon.

After some thought, I'm leaning towards passing on this cycle of NBA 2K. The reviews aren't exactly glowing and from a personal standpoint, I don't think I can support a game with a Celtic as the cover athlete. At least not for the full price of $70.

As much as I wanted to support a Celtic on the cover, Sony put 2k24 on PSN+ Extra so I just downloaded that. Basically, the same roster for the Celtics anyway.

So anyone actually play this yet? I'm wondering if they kept that dumb thing where your skills actually regress if you don't play for a while in the game.

On sale at Amazon for $29.99
I’m probably going to pull the trigger. That’s a good price point.

Pulled the trigger and bought the game from Amazon. Just arrived today. I know sports game aren't really popular on this board, but I love the NBA 2K series and $30 is more than reasonable for it IMO.
Need to make the time to install it. But, I am looking forward to playing with Knecht and seeing JJ on the Lakers sideline instead of Darvin "Pockets" Ham.

I enjoyed last years version quite a bit, taking my created player all the way to his hall of fame speech. But I’ll wait for this to land on Gamepass again.

It's only 31.49 digital. And for a game that is basically deprecated in two years and needs constant patches to be playable, there's little reason to yearn for physical in this case.
I've heard horrible things about the shooting in this game but I'm tempted, mainly because, by design, the last game I bought will have their servers shut down (and thus all myplayer progression) at the end of the year.

Re: NBA 2K25 -- featuring Jayson Tatum
I know this isn't a new thing, but can I just say how f'ing annoying it is that there's no easy way to use injured players in this game? I get the appeal of up to the minute roster updates, but when my son and I just want to "play now", I don't really care that Luka has a strained calf in real life. I'm not running a simulation.
As far as I can tell, there's no way to do this outside of creating a new roster and manually disabling all of the individual injuries. Of course I tried this and couldn't even get that to work, but maybe I'm just doing it wrong. But whatever. It should just be a simple toggle. How is this not the most obvious feature ever? Am I missing something obvious here?
*I should add that I'm playing on the Switch, which is like playing the Gameboy version of Mortal Kombat, but that shouldn't matter.
