The Lamplighters League (Now, Xbox, Gamepass, PC)
 

It's buggy, it crashes, it loses your saves (I already had to replay a chunk) but three hours in I'm addicted. Controls not the best. It's still playable right now. Having a lot of fun with this. I wouldn't pay sixty bucks for this, but worth a free download.

It keeps hanging on a mission I need to proceed in the game and won't load it but it loaded it on the Ally (but when I got the person I was rescuing she wouldn't follow me), so I'm doing other stuff and now and then I try to get it working again.

Yeah, super buggy. It seems the further I get, the more it crashes or glitches out.

I've got it downloaded and installed on my PC. Sounds like I need to give it another month or two before I start it. Hopefully, they'll have more patches by then.

The developer basically wrote down the entire budget of the game as a loss. That seems unprecedented considering this just came out. Or maybe this is normal and I just have no clue.

Yikes that doesn't sound good for those of us hoping for bug fixes. It's only been out for 8 days .. Maybe if they hadn't released ib on such a buggy state it would have sold better. All the reviews said it was fun, but had a ton of bugs

Bummer... I love games like this. I don't play it for more than a mission at a time but it's a great little break from other games.

Are there other games like this available for the Xbox? I assume this is a turn-based strategy game... I'm not into Final Fantasy or anything like that. Just a simple game like LL where I don't have to overthink or put 100 hours into it.

If you go to The Lamplighters League's Gamepass page and scroll down, there's a row of People Also Like, which is probably games that are similar.

I haven't checked it out yet, but so far, reading through this thread, there is literally nothing even beginning to describe what kind of game this is. It's weird.

It's a tactical turn-based rpg. You have a world map and send agents on missions. You can sneak up people and do a pre battle hit before the battle starts. You're always looking for this part or that part or that person. It has a cool story so I won't spoil it for you. But I had to quit playing because it hangs on the mission I need to continue.

Yeah, the crashes are ridiculous. I particularly love the one that happens as you exit a level that also somehow reverts the recent save file so you have to do the entire level again.

And there it is: a game killing glitch that completely stops the save function from working.

Edit: If anyone cares to work around the mess of glitches, it runs pretty smoothly when playing over the cloud.

Fittingly, the game just deleted all my saves as I was playing to final level.

The dev team said on discord that they released the last patch and are moving on to other projects but you can still buy and play the game. It was so buggy I gave up after a few hours.

RIP.

I hope this last patch left the game in a stable state. I really want to play it, but I heard bad things about all the bugs.
