If they had the remotest of hope this would be ready in 2024, they would have ended with a 2024 message. They didn’t even have gameplay shown, just cute, well-voiced CGI and a sight gag. Originally Posted by mhg83

For what it's worth, there were a few seconds of gameplay footage. Not much, but not nothing. Blink and you'll miss it.
It also wasn't 100% pre-rendered CGI but included significant "in-engine cinematics" which
isn't much more exciting, but at least is a representation of the assets they've built for the game and not something completely irrelevant.
But yeah. 2025 at best.

Gotta say that I really loved the Fable series but I am not feeling the trailer. Just wasn't what I was expecting at all.

Hmmm… the shots he points out DO look like gameplay shots… but most of the trailer appeared to otherwise be in-engine cinematics, so not sure what he means by “real,” but maybe we shouldn’t doubt Playground Games’ ability to deliver just yet.
Still, they’re actively recruiting for positions related to this game, and there’s no release date/year officially announced. Unless they’re in the home stretch (unlikely), we’ll be waiting awhile for this.

Fable is one of my favorite series. Can't believe how many people crapped on 3 as i thought that was a great entry and was sad to not see Fable 4

I really like the tone of that trailer. I hope the actual game maintains that vibe.

Hard to believe, but we will have had TWO Grand Theft Auto games released between Fable mainline games.

I mean with all the good games coming out it’s not a big deal. But it is a bit ridiculous at this point.

Yay! I have never played a Fable game because I have never owned an Xbox and I'm not a PC gamer

I never played Fable beyond a brief in-store demo at GameStop, since I never owned an Xbox. However, I was familiar with the franchise.
This looks great to me.
Although it seems the usual suspects found plenty more to hate about this game, other than the usual gripe that the NPCs aren't hot enough.
Somewhat off topic: Rachel Hardy, one of the producers, is really cute.

I’m very interested in the fact that the NPCs each have their daily routine. Other games have done this as well, of course, but I’m happy to see that included in this.
Also, the combat looks great to me. Not as precise as a Souls game, but not as button mashy as other action games.

I dig that they are all bespoke and individually voiced. Yeah, games like The Witcher 3 have done that, but only certain NPCs got the "side quest treatment". It seems all the NPCs will be like that here. I totally dig that.Originally Posted by Dan

This is year is packed with incredible games for XBOX players to enjoy, from Halo: Campaign Evolved, Gears of War: E-Day and Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 to Control Resonant, Star Wars: Galactic Racer and Grand Theft Auto VI. In order to plan our game launches through the holidays, in a way that works best for players, we're moving Fable to February 2027 so it can have the dedicated moment it deserves. We're excited to be giving players a major new look at Fable, as well as our broader lineup, at XBOX Games Showcase on June 7.
