Canceled Video Games You Want To Play
 

I was recently watching the leaked pitch demo for Prince of Persia: Redemption and wishing I'd get to play it some day.



It also made me think of this cancelled Star Wars game:



This all got me wondering, what other games were either pitched or in development that everyone here still wish they got to play?

Warcraft Adventures. There's a build out there of a mostly complete game, but I'd rather have played a completed version.

Black Isle Studio's versions of Fallout 3 and Baldur's Gate III.

The Aliens RPG that Obsidian was making.

The version of Diablo III that Blizzard North was making before they were shut down.

I think there was a StarCraft action game that got cancelled years ago. I would have liked to play that.

Edit : Checking online that was StarCraft : Ghost. But there was also recently another StarCraft game, a FPS based on the Overwatch engine, that also bit the dust. :sad:

Sleeping Dogs 2 is a game I wanted to play. The first part was far superior to its True Crime predecessors and for it was the only GTA clone which was equally fun.

I wish we would have gotten Full Throttle: Hell on Wheels, the follow-up to Lucas Arts’ Full Throttle, which was cancelled back in 2003.

I loved the point and click adventures of the 90s and FT just struck a cord with me.

Also, I know it’s still in “development” but I want to play Beyond Good & Evil 2. That’s been in limbo forever.

The Awful Green Things From Outer Space is my favorite board game, a whimsical game from Tom Wham originally published in Dragon magazine back in like 1979. In the 90s, QQP was working on a computer version of it, and actually had video of gameplay. They had financial problems, and were bought out by American Laser Games, who cancelled all their projects.

I’m still bitter.

Picassio, an art heist game that should have come out in 2001 or so.


I also would have loved to play Segagaga, which was like a comedic RPG focused on running Sega the business. It was released in Japan but never translated or released to the US.

Agreed. Sleeping Dogs was an awesome game.

I'm playing the first one now, and yeah, I'd have liked a sequel.

Whatever the new Silent Hill game that was being developed would have probably been a good one.

One that came to mind is one that I did get to play even though it was cancelled. Thrill Kill on ps1.

Another one I was looking forward to was Rockstar's Agent.



Well this one technically counts because the first iteration of BG&E2 was a sequel that was cancelled mid-development in favor of a prequel with the same name. The latter is the one that is currently in limbo.

Coincidentally, it's being adapted into a movie starring Donnie Yen. Hopefully it's a hit and we finally get a sequel to the game. :banana:​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Wasn’t there or was there a sequel to Shadow Complex that was supposed to come out? I know it was remastered, but I thought there was talks of a new one.

One I forgot about was Star Trek: Secret of Vulcan Fury. I was a fan of the previous Star Trek point and click adventures (25th Anniversary and Judgment Rites) and was looking forward to this one.
