If you had to pick one to bring on a desert island, which one you go with?

I’m thinking more and more, it could be PS5. I’ve really gotten bored of XBOX’s output.

And yes I know PC is not a console, but people sometimes only game on them.

I have a Switch and a PS5. I prefer the PS5.

My rankings!

1) Xbox Series X - Game Pass is outstanding (primarily as a great way to check out indie games), I prefer the Xbox ecosystem and assorted bells & whistles (such as installing games I haven't even bought yet and suspending/resuming multiple games at once), I like achievements more than trophies (especially how well they're tracked in the Xbox app), the controller feels better in my hands, and it has a bit of a hardware advantage over the PS5. The primary downside is that it's been "next year is when the floodgates open for exclusive AAA games!" since, like, 2016, and it still hasn't happened yet. First-party is anemic, no doubt, but the Series X is my go-to for multiplatform titles.

2) PS5 - I can't say I much care for the UI, it's kind of feature-starved and clunky compared to the XSX (and even the PS4 in some ways), the PS+ tiers don't grab me the way that Game Pass does, and more often than not, my hands ache after long play sessions with the DualSense in a way no other controller does, and there isn’t often a graphical or performance advantage over the Series X. But the DualSense haptics are neat when used to their full effect, and their first-party library is tough to top.

3) Switch - I like the handheld-but-also-a-console approach in theory more than practice; it stays docked 99.5% of the time. I appreciate the Switch mostly as a means to play Nintendo games. I thought the portability aspect would be really alluring for JRPGs, but that isn't really how things have shaken out in practice.

4) PC - Borderline-zero interest. I spend enough time on my PC in my home office as it is, and I think I know my worst tendencies enough that I'd get way too into the hardware and relentless upgrade cycles.
