Probably my favorite game series of all time. I can’t wait to play them again.

I loved the first game, but I never played the second game and third games. I hear the second game is the best in the series.

I’m oversimplifying but the first one is the RPG one, the second was the action one and the third was a closer blend.

I really dislike RPG’s. Well mostly turn based RPG’s. I bet I put in well over 100 hours in the first game alone. I had to search everywhere and do everything. I think I even did that three times.

Yeah, I was gonna ask Todd how many of those 100 hours were spent riding in elevators?

Re: Mass Effect Trilogy Remastered 2021

Hmmm... I dunno. I enjoyed the trilogy well enough, but I'm not sure I'll wanna play through it again, even with spruced up graphics* when there are brand new games that I barely have enough time for.

*(and what I'm seeing from the trailers, the graphics don't look that much better, just barely touched up)

Re: Mass Effect Trilogy Remastered 2021

The articles I've read detailing this remaster show that they did quite a bit of work on them especially with ME 1. Also the stuff about the Pinnacle Station dlc from the first game (which was just challenges and not very good) and why it couldn't be added is pretty fascinating.

Is the Mako still a pain in the ass to drive?

From the Game Informer article about Mako changes:

"Smoother camera operations when driving and sighting down the barrel for assault, updated physics to make the Mako feel more weighted and the player in more control, and better aiming for the actual weaponry are among the tweaks made. The studio also offered an alternative control scheme so that players can move even more seamlessly between the camera-centric controls and the Mako-centric controls. With the updates made to the entire base of the world in the first game, including full-level relighting and special VFX, exploring in the Mako looks like it will actually be fun for those that loathed the cart of terror. Better handling and target acquisition makes it a little smoother without completely changing what made the Mako what it was: a staple to a beloved trilogy. "

Apparently this adds native controller support for PC. Finally!

'Mass Effect Legendary Edition' doesn't add same-sex romance to the originals

Jessica Conditt

Tue, February 2, 2021, 8:01 AMThis article contains spoilers for romance options across all three Mass Effect games.

Mass Effect Legendary Edition is a comprehensive overhaul of Commander Shepard’s interstellar exploits across three iconic games, the first of which landed on store shelves in November 2007. At the time, George W. Bush was firmly ensconced in the White House, Fergie was still relevant, and same-sex marriage wouldn’t be federally legalized in the United States for eight more years. Mass Effect 2 appeared in 2010, and 3 hit just two years later.

Shortly after the launch of the first Mass Effect, Fox News aired a segment called “Sexbox?” where hosts discussed the immorality of the title’s sex scenes with wide-eyed shock. The talking heads falsely claimed the game featured full digital nudity, and they were appalled at the inclusion of a non-straight romance option, where players could seduce Liara T’Soni, a mono-gendered alien.

I'm still gonna get the trilogy.

LOL. I thought those shots were ridiculous during my ME2 playthrough however many years ago. Not disappointed in the least to have them changed.

Game has gone gold. Didn't realize this was coming out so soon. Don't have a next gen console so not sure if I should just skip this one and wait till I get a new console.

This has mostly 3rd person shooter elements right? I know rpg, but a lot of action and shooting too?

Mostly but it plays a little different than a traditional third person action shooter game, with squad based commands. You should check it out through EA Access and Game Pass to see if you like it.

Re: Mass Effect Trilogy Remastered 2021

I think I played a little of 1. I think I liked. I can’t let a collection of one of the most highly acclaimed game trilogies of all time pass me. I’ll play sometime before I die.

Re: Mass Effect Trilogy Remastered 2021

I am picking it up with a now-defunct GCU discount and free preorder Steelbook. Still I wish they had done at least a superficial improvement for the next gen consoles. Seems like too big a release to ignore the XSX and PS5 outside of BC.

what do you mean? It’s newly remastered/revamped etc to run at least 60 FPS on new consoles...
