So, I've had scorpions pop up twice on my island in the last week. Stung by the first one, didn't have a net for the second one.

How common (or uncommon) are the more exotic Nook Miles islands? So far, i've gotten junk. Same native tree, not interesting fish or insects. Other than emergency resources, what's the point?

I don't get non-native fruit Islands very often, maybe 1 in 10? Early on, I used them to mine tarantulas, and then later (but for less bells) Atlas Moths to get bells I needed.

More recently, I've used them to find replacements for the 2 animals that I've booted of my island. :)

There is a list of the islands (with rarity) here. I don't know how accurate their rarity system is though, since bamboo island has the highest chance, but I've only got it once. I've personally seen 0,1,2, and 10. I've done maybe 10 Nook Miles tickets.

Only one of the islands will have your sister/secondary fruit (the one mom sends in a letter on day 2-3) all others will be native.

I've started chopping down trees to at least try to get some beetles

so I appear to be on a decreasing turnip price this week. Anyone have good prices yet? If not, who else uses the ACNH Exchange? Some of the tip requirements are ridiculous.

Mine went up to like 116 yesterday and showed a steady rise but then went down today so I think I'm screwed this week.

Mine were in the dumpster, low of 23, and have since rebounded to 112 (I bought at 110). That being said, I sold mine at 406 by finding someone in a Reddit group dedicated to turnips. Some had tip requirements (usually bells for specific items) but this one didn't. I gave them 5k anyway since I more that tripled my bells.

Also, once that account is created you have to sign in and redeem your one year of nintendo online (should be a code or something) on his account. If you redeemed it on your account, and it's only for a single user, only your account can go online.

I have received photos from two of my island mates. I also received a legitimate piece of art in the mail from one of my island mates. He said he found it in the attic and he doesn't have space for it anymore. I already finished my art museum, so I will use it for decoration.

Wait, did you skip ahead? Otherwise how in the world did you finish your art museum already?

I just went back and forth between two days. I'm glad I did as it seems that Redd is going to be real sporadic. There are almost 45 different pieces of art and it took me purchasing many duplicates and even some fake pieces to get all of the individual pieces of art. The negative of doing this is that flowers will grow out of control. It is much worse if it is raining at one or both of the times you go back and forth in.

Apparently you haven't visited his island. You'd be able to tell within 5 seconds he's a time traveler. LOL.

Shit 99% of the Animal Crossing videos on YouTube of people's islands are only possible with time traveling.

Alright, I'm going to pull an Oldboy on you all because I really have no idea what I'm doing in regard to the Nintendo online stuff.

I have Oranges, Pears, and Coconuts on my island. I want to be able to get the other fruit, but haven't come across it on any Nook Ticket visits. I got 3 apples from "mom" on day two, but having literally no idea what I was doing, I ate all three thinking they'd give me some kind of ability/power needed for later  Turns out I should have planted them like a normal person.

Anyway... the point of this is... what do I need to be able to either:
1) Get someone to "mail" me the fruits I'm after, or
2) Get onto someone else's island to pick some fruit (and maybe some flowers/trees if they're interesting)
Also:
3) Do I need a microphone/headset to talk to others or is that not even an option in the game itself? I've seen videos where guys are talking to each other as they play, but I assume they're using Discord or something on the side.

I think I have Nintendo Online setup... I redeemed some free Twitch deal awhile back, and I know I can play those NES and SNES games that are on the console. But I've done literally nothing else with the online aspect, and having no experience with it, it seems more complicated than XBL or PS+ in terms of adding friends or connecting online.

So... explain like I'm 5. Or don't. :)

For those 2, yeah, I just mostly ignored them for a couple weeks and I didn't try and convince them to stay. They left a day or 2 later after that.

I also had a camper move in. I played the color/card game with her for a while and eventually she mentioned something about wishing she could move to my island. I don't recall exactly how the conversation went, but she ended up saying she talked to guest services about it, and they said it she could move in, but someone would have to move out. I had to approve that, but I did not get to pick who was leaving. It turned out that the animal that left was the most recent one that had moved in (not sure if that is how it always works, but that's the one that left for me).

Voice chat? On the switch? Ha! But seriously, no option.

If you can play the SNES/NES games, you have Nintendo online set up. You have to go to your airport and either open up your gates with a "dodo code" which you then share with others or have others do the same to you (you can also open it up only to friends but if you don't know if you have online, I doubt you swapped friend codes with anyone. Your friend code is listed in your profile if you want to share it with others)

I'm not sure ignoring them does anything, even ones I talk to daily will one day just walk around with a cloud around their head and ask me if they think they should leave. Usually I tell them to stay but the other day I said nah, go do something else and they moved out in two days.

 I thought it was worth asking, as I remembered this being an issue when the console launched.

Cool. Yeah, I've never shared my friend code, but from how you've described it, the friend code does not seem mandatory in order to open my island up, as long as I'm cautious with handing out my dodo code. Also, I understand that most folks can't use tools on my island unless I explicitly make them a "best friend" so there's not much harm in giving out the code other than letting people see how terribly designed my island is

But in terms of mailing fruit and gifts, I assume you can only do that once you've exchanged friend codes, yes? Like, some random visitor on my island can't just start sending me shit from that point on. This is mainly to protect my daughter, to be honest. I don't want her making friends with random visitors who then send her presents and messages.

Right, if you're not "friends" you can't send mail.

People can still trample flowers and pick up items that are dropped (not placed) on your island, so be aware of that. But if you just need each fruit you can just send me your dodo code and I'll bring them over (I just don't have bamboo).

^ Awesome, thanks! I might take you up on that. Not sure how often you're on, but either me, my wife, or my daughter are playing pretty often, so I'll let you know once I get the dodo code setup.

Next up will be trying my hand at the Turnip market :) My prices never seem to go above 150, so I'll have to try venturing out to sell them elsewhere during the week.

You'll have to visit someone or have someone visit you with all the fruit to get them.

To do this:
1 - add friend codes of people in this forum in the first post
2 - coordinate a time to visit another island with someone (you can only visit friends or with a 1-time dodo code)
3 - once either of you visits each other, we can send mail and attach presents

Voice chat, if you each connect the Nintendo Switch app on ios or android, you can technically voice chat. I use the app to text chat in game because speech to text is easier than typing on the switch.

I've never really messed with Amibos before, and I do have some, but I don't really know how they work.

Can an cross-game Amibo (like a Yoshi) be used in Animal Crossing, or is it limited to AC Amibos only?
