I mean is it such a big difference anymore. I’m so content and have so many games I’ll always have my One. Now, that I can even play 360 games is a plus. I’m not 4K and don’t plan on becoming anytime soon. I have so many unplayed, I’ll maybe eventually get new Xbox but not for years till after out. I just don’t see point.

Anyone else not care about next gen after our current 2019 gen?

I'll be honest, since my kids are reaching gaming age the vast majority of our gaming is on the switch which isn't even close to the current gen in terms of power. Heck, the dock isn't even hooked up to my receiver. To me, it's all about the games, when the games I want to play move on to the next system, that's when I'll be interested.

However, the launch hype will probably get to me.

If you are not a big gamer, then there is absolutely no point for you to buy a PS5. You would just be buying a super expensive paper weight that will eat up your electric bill.

PC is my main source of gaming anyways. Consoles for me are only for specific exclusives that won't come to PC. Otherwise console gaming for me mostly died all the way back with the end of the PS2 (which was largely my favorite console library of all time). PS3's library in comparison really lacked and then roughly 9 out of 10 games I want to play are released on PC so there's that too.

I only even bought a PS4 just in August 2018 because a friend offered it to me at an extremely good deal.

I'll probably never buy another gaming console unless it's around $150 max. There just really isn't enough value in them for me personally to invest anymore.

I'd rather put that money into PC upgrades or more hard drive space. Right now I have about 80TB worth of hard drives and they're almost completely full of data so I'll be expanding my archives soon as my PC gaming library and iTunes music/movie/television libraries only continue to grow.

The PS4 Pro and Xbox One X were such a huge shot in the arm for this gen. It doesn't feel to me like everything's creaky and aging the way I have during previous gens, but I'll be there on day one anyway.

I'm already in line for the PS5.

There's always a few people who say the same thing as Oldboy. "The difference isn't that great and I have a backlog that would make Alan Smithee blush." Then next gen rolls around and hype sets in and those same people are either lining up at launch or hopping onboard not long after.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with that but if you're a gamer, you're already in. It's a matter of when, not if.

Switch is all I seem to really play these days.

I'm not in any rush. I held out on this gen until Black Friday 2016. It was a combination of a game I wanted to play (Battlefield 1) and a decent price on the console ($200).

I'll probably upgrade when the next gen console is under $250 and there's a new Battlefield game.

But there's no way I'm paying $400-$500 for a new console. I don't game that much.

Answered yes because, as the question is stated, I am 100% confident that there is at least one person who does not really care about next Gen consoles.

Videogames are my number 1 hobby so I get almost all consoles at launch especially Sony & Nintendo consoles. With Microsoft actually getting some studios and looking to focus on releasing games again I'll probably be buying the next Xbox at launch also.

I wouldn't care if they didn't come out next year (or soon) but I will care once exclusives which I can't get on the current consoles start coming out.

I have a PS4 and only played one game this whole year and i didnt finish it. I have over 200 i never played for various systems and i just dont have an interest anymore it seems. I play old games like my mini nintendos every now and then but new games i havent a care for. So ill be passing on games systems from now on

No rush for me. Got a Pro, a switch, and more games than I will ever finish in my lifetime. Exclusives will get me moving though.

Well...I guess it depends on the individual and what they are looking for and wanting. On paper....there was a much bigger leap from the 360 & PS3 to the XBO & PS4 than what appears to be withe the XBO & PS4 to the Scarlett & PS5 in terms of power. It was 9-10 more powerful with the current gen models over the past ones (360 and PS3) while currently the future gen models...Scarlet & PS5 is said to be "4 Times more powerful". Yes, they'll have some better and much needed feature...SSD's....but will it actually be a huge leap versus the past one?....as of now/ I'm 50/50 on getting it...but wouldn't mind getting a XBX to play GoW and others with friends I still have from the 360 days...

So we won't be getting any "How do you clean your PS5 controller?" threads in 2021, yay!

I'm happy with my PS4 & Nintendo Switch but I'll go where the games I want are.

I'll pick up one at launch (probably PS5 due to exclusives) and pick up the other the following year. It worked out for me good this gen so I didn't get stuck with the forced bundled Kinect at launch

Games on the Xbox one X look amazing - I can't wait to see what the next gen consoles have in store. I'm pretty sure we're not going to see 8K gaming (is 8K even really needed for home viewing?) but I'm also sure the games are going to look incredible.
