I am beyond hyped for this Thursday.
I'm hoping for a Demon's Souls remake/remaster reveal.

A price and release date would be nice. I'm ready to get that pre-order in.

I'm not sure what to want or expect in terms of games. Ratchet & Clank have been MIA for a few years though so it would be nice to see them return for launch.

I'll be getting both at launch also but I am super excited about them. My Xbox One has been pretty much a paperweight over the last few years with only using it for Rock Band, Ori games, and a random exclusive. I'm looking forward to Microsoft actually releasing some exclusive games from all these studios they've been acquiring.

My Xbox is pretty much a dedicated media player (4k player + CBS and CW apps). Since Microsoft guaranteed that all new games (first party at least) will play on the Xbox One means I can play the next Halo and Hellblade games without buying a new Xbox. I'm also not knee deep in their ecosystem anymore. So I'll be passing at launch.

Wow I hadn't been paying attention, so I didn't hear about this. What makes them think this is a good strategy?

I assume they're banking on their ecosystem luring people in and/or at least not jumping ship to Playstation. I don't think it's a good strategy though. I'd rather get the new console that has new exclusive games. I'll reevaluate the Series X in a couple years when there are actual exclusives.

Granted, there is always overlap in generations where a game is released on both consoles, but this seems different to me.

Yes and yes! I have always been a PlayStation first guy, but whoever comes in with a pre-order first gets my money.

I do. The timing matches the price announcement and preorder window for the PS4 in 2013.

I was ready to pre-order this thing but now, I'll wait for detail of the pricing before committing. I know that I will get it for sure but I'm not sure if I needed for launch.
