I think they had 3 options. Was the Spider-Man available?

Well if nothing else, Sony is really good on their turn-around. Got my PS5 today and immediately sent out a replacement, again.
But now I feel pretty good everything is going to work out fine. :fc:

I hope that thing works man. What an ordeal and pain in the ass.

Shit my PS5 showed up too fast.

Was given Feb 6th delivery date. It shows up today. Still trying to get the account thing resolved. Doh!

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

Decided I wasn't going to wait until this account thing was resolved and cracked this sucker open. Activated my old PSN account with older email. Figure I can switch to my real email if they approve it. If they don't approve it then I was screwed anyway I really like how clean Sony's menu is vs Xbox. Started playing Spider-man remastered. Holy shit have I been missing out. This game is fucking awesome.

I will say this system is even more hideously awful looking than pictures. The second I can get a shell to replace this white one, I am.

Okay I was super confused before. You have one PSN account and it's attached to an older email and you want to move it to your preferred email but someone else has already mistakenly claimed that email for their (presumably inactive) account and you can't use it. Is that correct?
I can't imagine that Sony can do anything about that as there would be no way to notify the account holder of the change. As long as you still have access to that email account it's not a big deal especially on the PS5 where you can sign in using the app on your phone.

It’s a Gmail address, right? You could do the dot trick.

If your email address were [email protected] and Sony rejected it as already in use, you could use [email protected] (put that dot anywhere before the @). It’ll bypass Sony’s tests, and the emails will still go to [email protected]. (Gmail ignores dots in email addresses.)

I had to do this for a different reason with PSN, and it’s been working great for me.

Yes. That is correct. I have ownership of the email address, though. It is not my fault some fucko can't put their email address correctly. If it is an inactive account should be easy to wipe it. I agree it is problematic if it is an active account but how is that possible? Pretty sure you have to confirm your email when you sign up for an account.

I did not know this. This may be a preferred work around if they deny me. Thanks for this. I had no idea of this trick in Gmail.

Got an email from Sony UK that my login has changed. I am wondering if that means they accepted my request to use my main email. No word from Sony here though so I am not doing anything yet.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

Well last night I participated in my monthly ritual of setting up a new PS5. This third one was absolutely a factory refurb. My second one came in a plain white retail box, this one came in a beat up shipping box that you send your broken unit back to Sony in. They didn't even have the Styrofoam insert that they ship it to you with, they just bubble wrapped this unit and threw it in the box.

Anyway, I set it up, did NOT do a system restore. Installed a couple of games. Seems to be working so far. We shall see if it lasts the weekend...

Now we'll see if you can break a third one Decker.

The third time's the charm! Or three strikes you're out.

I sincerely hope it's the former.

On one hand I am pissed I missed out on the PS4 for this Spiderman game. In the other hand I am absolutely thrilled I get to play this enhanced on PS5 along with all these games. My buddy has been bugging me to get a PS5 and was totally right. This shit is awesome. Absolutely worth it.

I also blame everyone here for not also informing me of this as well.

I take it you got Spider-Man along with Miles Morales? I tried going back to Spider-Man after playing Miles Morales and just couldn't do it. Once you learn to go invisible, it's just not as much fun to go back to regular old spider powers.

Yes, Spider-man first.

I'm too used to Ubisoft price dumps. I still haven't bought Miles Morales because I'm waiting for a sale and Sony has gone all Nintendo 1st party on us.

MM is worth every penny of full price, IMO.

I'm sure it is, and yet it will be an even better deal when it eventually goes on sale. :)

On the one hand it is kind of sad that the PS5 is basically my Ghosts of Tsushima machine, but on the other hand, it's a great game and I actually might finish something for once.

Bought Control on Xbox hoping to the ultimate upgrade version soon. Oh well

:gah: I bought Control UE during the Holiday sale just waiting for the Next Gen update. Haven't even downloaded it yet.

But wow, all three games are solid choices.

So did I, but it was cheap, so I'm good with it. Happy they are giving us solid games each month

I worry every time I open this thread now that your latest PS5 had caught on fire or something. Almost like a celebrity thread that gets bumped for a death.

 Thanks. So far, so good, though all I have played on it is Hitman 3 and Immortals Fenyx Rising. They have worked fine so far.
I still don't know what happened with the second one, which worked great until it crashed and burned after 4 days.

I have hooked up my HDD for PS4 games. Last month I unbundled the data cap on my internet and downloaded a bunch of games, but it was $50 for the privilege, and now I am back capped at 1280 GB. So if I want to play my digital PS4 games, I am doing it off the external HDD. It seems to work as far as I can tell now.
And I am turning the unit off when I am done instead of Rest Mode, which may have killed PS5.2 while playing Spider-Man Remastered.

PS PLUS Has been killing it lately. January and February has had great games. Guess they're trying to tempt PS4 Users to jump to PS5 :)

Wow. Count me as another that bit on Control for Black Friday.

So have they released the next gen patch yet? I was waiting to start it.
