Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

Something very weird happened : My glitchy copy of Miles Morales somehow got deleted last night. I have to reinstall it this morning. No idea how that happened. I have already deleted it and reinstalled it once, but that was a few days ago and it didn’t make a difference with the bugs. No idea if this was something the PS5 detected and did on its own, but unless my teenage son accidentally deleted it yesterday, which I strongly doubt, it just vanished.
Fortunately I have this game on disc and not a digital copy because I am right up against my data cap for the month with a couple of days left. Checked my data usage. Anyone care to guess which day I chose to properly set up my PS5?

That's a very long middle finger. Here is what I was afraid of what was going on with my Amazon shipment of my PS5.

Really glad they got rid of the light bar on the front of the controller. Hated seeing that reflection on my TV & buying things to cover up the light bar.

Godfall is one of the most boring games I've ever played. The opening cutscene where they introduce you to the world and characters is as generic as I've ever seen. There is nothing even remotely interesting about this world or the plot to hook you.

Overall, I'm actually extremely happy with the DualSense controller. I was not a fan of the DualShock 4 (I still think the touchpad is dumb on both of these) but the PS5 controller is damn good. It's funny because the adaptive triggers was something I was completely unconvinced by until I actually experienced it. It's cool shit, and could be a generation-defining feature if utilized well. I'm still very concerned about the longevity of the adaptive triggers (those poor plastic mechanical parts...) but time will hopefully prove me wrong.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

The adaptive triggers malfunctioned on me once while playing Watch Dogs. The L2 was rumbling like it was broken when using a weapon. I thought my controller had already broken. I switched controllers and it did the same thing. The only thing that fixed it was rebooting the game. There are still some bugs to be worked out with some of the games and how the adaptive triggers are supposed to respond in certain situations.

Think it's safe to charge the controller using a Switch charging brick/cable?

Well I know the Switch is a bit different. I can't charge my switch using a standard cable plugged into a random charging adapter. Don't want to destroy my controller battery if the voltage is different.

^ Voltage should technically be fine, but I, too, have heard of people bricking their Switch because of different USB cables. Could be something to do with how the different cables or devices manage current.

I killed a 8bitdo controller I used on my phone by plugging it into the Switch power adapter, which is why I ask.

Sorry, I'm going to pull an Oldboy on this and ask a really dumb question since you have the most experience with this...

How long until the $10 cert shows up in your account usually? I can't remember the last time I actually pre-ordered a physical game, so I'm not sure what to expect.

It's usually within a week or so of picking up the game.

From a random reddit post: "On the news tabs, highlight a story, press options, and then there is the option to unfollow the game it is related to."

Semi related, you can customize the bottom toolbar, somewhat. Just hit the Options button when you're navigating that bar. You can get rid of apps you won't use.

Unfortunately you can't add a Trophy button.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

I remember a week or two ago there was a big uproar over in UK and parts of Europe about no-one was able to get their hands on securing a PO for the PS5.....well, we now know the reason and makes you wonder if such groups are here in the US. Point is we all thought Sony...and retailers...were suppose to somehow limit this so there wouldn't be stuff like this happens. I bet across UK there are are quite a few fit-to-be-tied over this news out today....

I put a piece of black electrical tape over the light bar and you could hardly notice that the tape was there... it blended nicely. I had no idea that they actually sold shit to cover it up

I tried to force my self to finish the campaign but I couldn't. 3-4 hours in I had to call it quits. Not a single aspect of this game is intriguing or interesting in any way other than it looks nice.

These guys are scum, but they do what they do because people pay the prices they ask.
Unless you're rich, why would anyone pay these prices? Why cave in? Let the scalpers get stuck with massive inventory.
This isn't medicine or any type of necessity... it's a console. Be a little patient and buy it at regular price.

PS5 memory gets really, really hot. Wonder if this may cause issues down the line: https://www.notebookcheck.net/PlaySt....505790.0.html

walmart was sold out in less than 1 minute again. I can't imagine anybody but bots got one. The website just consistently fails for normal folks. Plus we have no idea how many they actually had.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

I tried to go the Walmart route for a friend and it sucked. I was on it as soon as it went live and it was a shit show. They really need to do away with the bots, but why would they care? They get the money from someone. That is all that matters. Unfortunately, when people pay a higher price for a console, it might make it difficult for that person to buy anything else for it. There really has to be some measure in place that would reduce the frequency of this. I can't imagine that there are still thousands of wealthy people with tons of disposable income out there still looking to get a PS5. Regardless, I'd prefer to see these bot sellers sitting on a bunch of unsold, high priced stock and stuck with a ton of interest on their credit cards.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

Yeah, my whole group of friends are all trying to score a single console between us for one of our group and, yeah, shit show is an understatement.

I'm kinda peeved that the controller dock is short stocked and apparently been scooped up by bots as well. Going for double it's value on ebay. I can deal with a cord until it's readily available again.

Check the Meijer website and see if any near you have it available for pickup. That's how I got one and also the headset. They won't ship them, and they don't seem to have them on the shelves in the stores, but around here many of the locations have them orderable for pickup. (I seem to recall you live in KY where there are some Meijer locations?)
