I just got this invite. Pretty excited to try it out tonight.
(This code can't be shared, sorry).

I see that there is PS5 streaming now, but disappointingly it's only for 9 games. Three are F2P (Fall Guys, Destiny 2, Fortnight). I have most of the others already, most already installed on my SSD (Horizon FW, God of War Ragnarok, Returnal, Sackboy). I could still check out Demon's Souls and Death Stranding though.

Executive editor at IGN regrets buying a PSVR2

plus potential first-party delays, and no mention of PSVR2 in the report:

Otherwise, things are genuinely moving along smoothly for the market leader.

I don't regret my PSVR2 but it's sure not getting much use. I don't really want to play shooting or survival horror games. I'm holding out hope more adventure games from popular franchises are on their way (more Star Wars games, please).

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

Yeah I saw the tweet yesterday and it seemed strange to write, at least this early -- less than 6 mo after the system launched. You could literally say the same thing about every VR setup. I like PSVR2 way more than Oculus Quest 2.
I wish there were more games already, but GT7 showed tons of promise for how VR could be integrated into a full standard game. It's really impressive -- wish I enjoyed GT7 more as a racer, it just isn't my favorite in the genre (wish I could play a Forza clone in VR like that). Everyone is sure to lose their minds once RE4 Remake adds VR, but like Rob, I'm not a fan of survival horror.
I'm willing to give it more time, but I do wish I knew more AAA First-party games were in the pipeline.
In the meantime Beat Saber will keep me entertained.

It’s funny how he says his VR is accumulating dust. I mean, I use my PS5 consistently and it still gathers dust

yeah but you don’t pick up your PS5 and put it on your head every time you have to use it.

except for special occasions, naturally.

I still want the PSVR2 just to play Horizon. I think I will wait for a few more big name titles though before dropping the $600.

The VR version? Isn't it just a climbing sim with little/nothing to do otherwise?

There's some stealth and some archery battles with robots. But mostly climbing.
It's beautiful but ultimately underwhelming.

I played the demo. That was a blast. I loved the archery stuff. Climbing was fun too.

Real or fake?

(for those who can’t see Twitter posts, it’s a video of a new model PS5, but it isn’t clear if it’s real or someone trolling with a 3D printed model.)

Hello Everyone

At first I was going to start a new thread on....... Headphones for Gaming ......but nowdays there's ones for PS5, ones for XBox and ones for PC and some you can have for all. Sony in their infinite so-called wisdom decided to not include a Optical Port that threw a monkey wrench into everyone's PS4 setup...including mine. At the time i was using a pretty impressive sounding Skullcandy Plyr 1 that had a headphone station with optical providing 7.1 and the sound was very impressive...and of course it became useless after getting PS5 and I moved them to PC and ended it getting the.... Lucid LS41 .... which coulkd work with PS5, just wasn't going to get all the benefits that PC and XBox was getting. Well, though they still sound...good the ear cups are falling apart which is a shame and there's no real way to fix or replace.so it's time for another set......

So I wanted to ask what others are using, if they've used, tried, tested or looked at others...I've sort of gathered some different models and brands to look into and some have more expensive models and some cheaper but these seem to have good reviews without breaking the bank...or with some if the performance, comfort, sound justifies the price, I'll consider them...

NEW SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7 Wireless Multi-Platform Gaming Headset ....these seem to be in the Top 3 headsets on about every list out there....very seldom on sale but currently $20 off at around $160 on Amazon....
SteelSeries New Arctis Nova 3 Multi-Platform Gaming Headset ....The Wired Version that I can live with...these seem to fall in the middle of the pack between the Nova 1 and nova 7 (which is on my list)....
Razer BlackShark V2 Gaming Headset though this set is the wired version and nottoo fond of wired, it's been in the Top 10 Lists of several headphone reviews...the Wireless pro version gets high marks but it comes in normally at $180 or so....though today i see the Pro V2 White at best Buy for $119....
Turtle Beach Stealth 700 these are currently $100, $50 off on Amazon...overall fairly good reviews but with some quirks...like the App to deal with the settings and a few others....
Logitech G535 LIGHTSPEED Wireless Gaming Headset I've seenthese listed on past Top Set Lists....seem to be more for PC crowd but shows works with all systems.....
Corsair VOID RGB ELITE Wireless Gaming Headset Corsair is vastly known for their PC Line of products but does say for PS5 with this headset....fits the price as well...

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

I use the Arctis 7+.
I am not into all the bells and whistles enough to tell anyone else if they are the headset for them or not, but I am happy with them. Only thing I wish they had was the ability to raise and lower game sound and party chat separately, which is something my old Turtle Beach Stealth 400's could do. The Stealths served me very well also.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

Why not just use the first party Pulse 3D? It works nicely, has surround sound and is only $99.
Suny has a higher end model like the top of the line Inzone H9 but it's $250. Ouch. Was a lot cheaper in a recent Target sale but it sold out.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

I looked for a general headphones thread the other day and ended up posting in the Xbox thread (because I was hoping for one that did both consoles). I got a good answer but I think a dedicated thread would make sense.

The Turtle Beach Stealth 700 and Street Series Arctis Nova 7X were two I had looked at for wireless.

My buddy has the Pulses and says the battery life is ass, much like the controllers.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

I just started using my over the ear noise canceling Sony headset. I had to buy a Bluetooth dongle for about $25 to make it work but it was better than buying a new headset just for the PS5.

Actually the battery lasts a good long time. Not as long as the Xbox one, but plenty long enough. I'll charge it after several play sessions, no big deal. Way better battery than the controllers.

Yeah I have no problems with the Pulse battery life.

Reviews indicate it has a 12-13 hour battery life. No idea why anyone would complain about that.

Maybe some just have no Pulse.

I bought the Pulse on a whim like 2 years ago and wore them once. I just never use headphones so not sure why I bought them.
