Never ever had a "grip" issue.

Yep

You should be good for a year on games. Get to playing. Come back when you've finished a couple.

But that’s a year or so from now. You guys can’t wait a year or so. Y’all feel empty.

Tomorrows the day. I already popped into GoW. Did some rowing, axed some baddies. I’m in it now boy….

In addition to all those other games, if you like the look of that, play Detroit Become Human. Same studio, same game play concept but a much better, deeper, "funner" and more intuitive game.

Sounds good, just weighing my options and maybe try some and see what sticks. Didn’t do much in GoW, but it looked good.

Are some of PS5 settings auto set for 4K TVs? Meaning if I just have 1080p should I’d be checking something off to tell it that?

Yes and in your case it'll got Auto.....withK sets some and not all, you have both resolution and frame rate; 30fps, 60fps, 120fps (Hz). Sony just added VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) but it also varies game to game. Then there's HDR Option but since you don't have K4 no worries there. If you can, seriously look for a good deal this week on one. It really makes the PS5 shine and shows what it can do. I'm using a ASUS 32" gaming Monitor that does 2160 not True 4K 3240 but gives me up to 160Hz. Picture is perfectly fine....

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

After my favorite football team collapsed yesterday and lost their chance for a National Championship, I did some retail therapy this morning. I picked up three more PS5 games:
Horizon: Forbidden West PS4 with free PS5 upgrade $29.99
Ghosts of Tsushima Director’s Cut PS5 $29.99
Life is Strange: True Colors PS5 $19.99

I have almost every PS5 game that I want except for Ratchet and Clank, but I still haven’t played the PS4 Ratchet and Clank so I can wait on it. I might buy Sonic Frontiers if it’s $29 at Walmart, but I think I’m done buying for awhile now.

I love how Oldboy stated that he has issues with the controller being slippery but you guys have so quickly convinced him that he doesn’t need something that would have helped with that.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

OldBoy if you think those grips will help then by all means buy them and use them. I’ve never had an issue, but I understand some people might sweat more and need them.

Maybe try grips on the much less sexy white controller first if you think that you might need them?

OldBoy 11-20-22 09:44 AM

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

it's not that i sweat, i rarely play to that level, but i just notice it harder to hold the controller like the Xbox. i mean my hands are rough and just to the point of cracking, without actually cracking, but they're smooth, so, even more slippery now, in the colder days. i went ahead and reordered last night. i'll test them out is all. if i don't like i'll return. no biggie, but i think it will help. as long as i can get them on...

but then, if i like them, it would be hard to take off and i'm sure adhesive wouldn't be as strong for another controller.

If they are like the ones I have, I don’t think re-using them will be an option.

FWIW you absolutely don't need to have played R&C (2016) to play and enjoy A Rift Apart. There is zero story connection between the two. Grab it from PSN at that price. It's a steal.
And you probably already know this but Ghost of Tsushima DC is included with Playstation Plus Extra.

explain, please. are they easy to install and do they stay and make for a more comfortable experience? Max, do you use the thumbsticks too?

I only have PS Plus Essential. I don’t have much of a desire to upgrade to Extra or Premium right now.I like to own physical games, because I can always sell them if PlayStation gives me a free copy via PlayStation Plus Essential. I still think I’ll wait on Rift Apart though. I already spent enough and I’ll grab it next time it’s on sale.

The ones I posted were easy to install and are very comfortable indeed. I love them, which is why I try to pimp them out to anyone who might be interested.I don't use the thumbsticks, my experience with those in the past is that they constantly pop off.
I could be wrong about re-using them as I have never actually tried taking them off and re-applying, but I would imagine it would be just like trying to re-use a sticker, ie: it's not going to go well.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

Seriously the controller is all textured with tiny X, O, squares and triangles. It's very comfortable and not at all slippery.

On another topic, I was able to find out what happened if you "purchase" a game on PS Plus Extra and then it is removed from the service - - do you still own it?
Here's the answer :

Mafia there has just been pulled. It shows as in my Collection but locked. So no, if a game is about to go away and you grab it before it does, then you still can't play it once it leaves the service.

Rough but smooth......just the way she likes 'em. Glad to see you are seemingly enjoying the PS5.
