here’s the new tiers:

the addition of Ubisoft Classics is interesting… as well as the commitment to have 75+ day one games per year, though I bet a good chunk of those end up being, for lack of a better term for now, shovelware.
last I checked most of Ubisoft classics was already on there. it would be better if they add Ubisoft plus games but thats probably never happening lol

please don’t give them ideas. If they added those, they’d call it Game Pass Ultimate+ and charge $45/month!

They are games now available in Game Pass. So exactly like you would access any other Game Pass game.

This is me except for the solitaire part. Rarely game, kept it around because it was cheap just in case, then when I finally had to renew last year did the conversion-but-at-a-worse-rate for ea play or something or other and kept it around. But otherwise, I'm out.

by taking a hit of $10 on each sale. Maybe they think if they sell Xbox gift cards at discount, people will buy their unsealed new games, too. It doesn’t really make sense but it’s Game Stop, so Ż\_(ツ)_/Ż

Of course it might only be current inventory. They added a new mid-level tier, right? Once the current cards are sold out, they'll charge the new price

That's my guess. It's the same thing we've seen when games have been delisted but the physical cards with codes will still let you redeem them.

But like I said earlier, aren't these activated and then paid for by the store? It's wild for a store to advertise they are going to sell old cards (since I think the vendor can easily just ask for them back)

Re: Xbox Game Pass/Game Pass Ultimate

Just noticed an email I got from them this morning with the title:
Your Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription just got even better

No mention of the price increase (of course).

Re: Xbox Game Pass/Game Pass Ultimate

Ugh, I still play mostly on Xbox, and do play a lot of Gamepass games. This summer I tried Indiana Jones, nope; Shadow of the Tomb Raider, nope; Jedi Survivor, nope. It was really easy to try stuff out and move on to something else. And I do play a lot of Ubisoft. On the other hand, I hate price hikes, and I don't want to bleed money on entertainment subscriptions. I could cancel this and maintain my AppleTV and save money. I also don't spend a ton of time playing, and have a ton of backlog. Like, I think I own all the past Assassin's Creeds except Valhalla, which I knew I could just play on Gamepass as long as it was there. And the Far Crys as far back as I expect I'd go. I'll probably cancel.

Re: Xbox Game Pass/Game Pass Ultimate

PC is in between premium and ultimate with 300 games including all day one games. Pretty much premium plus day one games. Same thing happened last price increase with console getting shafted and pc left mostly alone. Gonna go ahead and redeem my 30 months of codes.

Re: Xbox Game Pass/Game Pass Ultimate

“We’re also welcoming major additions to the Ultimate experience. Starting November 18, Fortnite Crew – an $11.99/month value – will be included in Ultimate, with access to the Fortnite Battle Pass, 1,000 V-Bucks each month, and more.”

I missed this bit before.
Here’s an idea: let people opt out of this ‘perk’ completely, with no option to ever add it back, and let those people have GPU for $17.99/month instead.

Yeah, that is a perk I definitely don't need or want.
They have to be getting this message, right?

Re: Xbox Game Pass/Game Pass Ultimate

Wow, putting the new Call of Duty on Game Pass actually hurt Activision bottom line. Who could have seen that coming?

Considering the amount of money CoD players spend on new character packs and seasons, I doubt it hurts too much.

Re: Xbox Game Pass/Game Pass Ultimate

I canceled. For as much as I play, I was already having trouble justifying the spend, and while I'll miss the freedom to browse and play random games, the ones that I knew I was most interested in were at the top tier and discovery games probably would be as well.

Re: Xbox Game Pass/Game Pass Ultimate

I'm not sure what's worse:
COD losing money being put on Gamepass so the CEO asks them to find other avenues to profitability (ie: raising prices)
or
COD didn't really lose money but the CEO is still asking them to find other avenues to profitability (ie: raising prices)
