I got derailed with playing Sky rim, but when I popped in the Fallout 76 game in the PS5 it said I needed to update it -- it was a 72GB update. Man, that's insane! lol

I have to hand it to Bethesda on what they've done with FO76 since it came out which was a disaster off the bat...they've really added a lot and the game has become more real Fallout. I need to catch up on a lot; just wish some friends get back in since its far more fun with friends playing...I just wish they cut some slack off that Monthly Fee and even with it on Elder Scrolls

Gonna start this back up, possibly from the beginning. There's been that PITT update (69GB update) and game version 1.70 (25GB update). I checked my log and the last time I played it was back in November of 2021, so it's been a while - may need to go back in nice and fresh.

Re: Fallout 76 - (PS4, XB1, PC)
I haven't been back on in last couple of weeks. last time I did I tried to get in some pop-up Events but no-one showed up so I left and haven't been back since. I did not do the PITT but heard it's good BUT...you might need a friend to go thru last part...Boss is tough. I don't know if it's still free this month on Playstation but posted my thoughts over there on if anyone thought about it, they should give it a go....it's night and day difference from initial release...

Played it for a couple of hours last night. Shit, I actually had not played it since December of 2020, so even longer than what I originally thought.
Yeah, it was fun, and I don't even remember their being that early misc mission of the dead body in the isolated cabin or Vault 51. Those must have been added later on in an update.

Re: Fallout 76 - (PS4, XB1, PC)
Fallout 76 heads to Atlantic City this winter with a new Expedition
Fallout 76 started in West Virginia, but the game’s Expeditions allow the player to venture out of Appalachia and go to new cities in post-apocalyptic America. The first Expedition was centered around Pittsburgh, known as The Pitt. Today, Bethesda released more information on the second Expedition, which will take place in Atlantic City. This will be a two-part content update, and the first part will arrive on Dec. 5.
The Atlantic City updates are called Boardwalk Paradise and America’s Playground, and the environment is fairly different from the rough and tumble hills of the base game. Things are a little classier in Atlantic City than previous destinations. There’s a casino where players can gamble their caps, as well as the usual gamut of new factions, creatures, missions, and rewards.
The first installment, Boardwalk Paradise, will be available via the Public Test Server on Oct. 3. Players will be able to sample the new content on Steam. The update will launch in full on Dec. 5. We currently don’t have a release date for America’s Playground, but it will conclude the story of Atlantic City. It sounds like we’ll be getting a story closer to New Vegas than previous stories told in Fallout 76; there’ll also likely be a heaping helping of inspiration from other crime dramas like Boardwalk Empire.
Fallout 76 first introduced NPCs and more traditional questlines in the Wastelanders update in 2020. This was followed by Brotherhood of Steel-related updates, the introduction of season passes, and more public events — including a war against alien invaders and the festival known as Meat Week.

I really wanted to get back into this eventually. I played it for maybe a week after it launched and it was fun but so buggy and lifeless. I’m sure it’s much better now I just don’t have the time. Maybe when it’s on Gamepass again.

It’s still on game pass. I still play but just the little game boards which take me about a month then I take a break. I will finish this one next week then break until November or December.

I fired this up last night...first time in several, several months...it's pretty amazing getting a real good TV/Monitor....in this case I went with a 42" LG C2 OLED for the desk...on how great the visuals improved. I didn't do much, just checked on Home/Base, took in sights and tried to remember the How To's....I actually need to finish Brothers first...and me nor a friend got...The Pitt. Has anyone played that and was it worth it...it's like $29....

Re: Fallout 76 - (PS4, XB1, PC)
The Pitt is just an expedition included in the game. You need to start a quest at Whitespring refuge, or join someone else's expedition.
The $29.99 thing is cosmetics (gun/armor), and some craftable items for your Camp.

Re: Fallout 76 - (PS4, XB1, PC)
Thanks for clearing that up.....I had to look at my Log to see where I'm at and I think I am where it starts or the option to. I remember doing some side quest inside Whitesprings Resort and the last one...haven't done...mentions talking to someone with ties to The Pitt Boss...which I remember seeing something that it starts The Pitt Expedition...I decided to hold off thinking other two friends who were playing might want to do this and I never went back...
On a side note though I did grab that new...... Fusion Core Recharge Station in Atomic Shop...and the darn thing really works, no caps or resources except 20 Volts is needed and can do four at a time....
Updated....I got around to playing some last night but I wouldn't say...dead...but not alot of players at all. I saw several Events Pop Up that I know in the past would have 4-6 players easily....not last night. I jumped into Campfire tales and the one where you Defend The Moonshine....it was just three of us and both failed. Even the Event Scorched Earth down in The Nuke Zone had zero....and right before I called it, The Mole Miner One which almost everyone goes to had one player......think right now with several new games out, a lot of players have left....hopefully not for good....

Re: Fallout 76 - (PS4, XB1, PC)
I had forgotten about some of the updated that had/were coming out - I hit the update on my PS5 and it said that the game had a 29GB update. Or what it 39GB? I was surprised, because that's fucking huge and it's not even the one coming out on 12/5 unless they decided to release it early.
I hear that it's also now running at 60 FPS via the PS5.
I'll probably start it up again tomorrow.

Re: Fallout 76 - (PS4, XB1, PC)
Started up a brand new quest and was prompted to renew my Playstation membership for online game, so did that and dove right in. Wow, 60 FPS makes this thing look even better. It moves really fast and is smoother, with no lag that I could detect. Will probably play it some more this weekend.

Re: Fallout 76 - (PS4, XB1, PC)
Second part seems ok with more free exploration. I do not think there is much clamoring for more expeditions, especially once you could reroll challenges. The Pitt got old really fast but hopefully this will be a bit more fun.

If so many like this game why such low metacritic score? I dl’d for free with PS Premium. I never got into the Fallout games. I think I tried 3 or 4 and just wasn’t for me, but so long ago and my tastes have changed, so probably give this a chance sometime.
