Square Enix and Dontnod Entertainment have revealed Life is Strange 2, the next chapter in the episodic series that introduces an entirely new cast of characters in a completely fresh storyline. Telling the tale of brothers Sean and Daniel Diaz, aged 16 and 9 respectively, Life is Strange 2's events begin in the wake of a tragic occurence in suburban Seattle, forcing the pair to flee their home.

On the run from the police, Sean decides that he and his brother must make it to Puerto Lobos in Mexico, which means a dangerous road trip inevitably filled with difficult decisions that will put the bonds of brotherhood to the test. Taking in a variety of new settings, new gameplay features and new powers to discover, Life is Strange 2 is described as the "most ambitious project" in the series history to date.

"The release of Captain Spirit was a great moment for the team and we can’t wait to introduce the players to the new story and characters of Life is Strange 2," said LiS2 Co-Creative Director Raoul Barbet. "We have worked hard with the original team to keep what I personally loved to craft in the first game: the mood, the cinematographic work and of course, the music."

Life is Strange 2's first of five episodes debuts on 27th September for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC, and you can watch the reveal trailer to meet Sean and Daniel below.

I finally finished Before the Storm and noticed that chapter 1 of Life is Strange 2 was on sale for $4, so I grabbed it and played through it last night.

It's really good, guys. Really good.
I won't say too much yet, but for $4 for the episode, go ahead and grab it. It's a bit longer than the usual LIS episodes, but I'd say shorter than the LIS:BTS episodes were (those felt almost too long at times).

Looks like they're doing ~4 months between episodes this time around... with the next one coming sometime next month. It's a bit of a long wait going forward... but it'll be worth it, I'm sure. I honestly can't wait for Episode 2 now.

I bought the first episode for $4 back on Black Friday and haven't gotten around to playing it, but I still haven't gotten around to the episodes I mentioned back in August.

I've heard great things about Episode 1, but didn't realize how long it was taking between episodes so I guess I'm not in a huge rush

They are really dragging this one out. Remaining episode dates:

Episode 3 - May 9

Episode 4 - August 22

Episode 5 - December 3

I'll just wait until next year at this point and buy the season once it's on sale.

This is why I didn't jump on this one from the get go. It's bound to be $19.99 or less before it's finished.

It seems like all the episodes of this one will end up on XBox Game Pass a few months after they release. Something to consider if there's anyone still thinking about this game. I have yet to play through Ep2, and Ep3 is now out.

^ I bet you are right. Episode 3 just got added to game pass and episode 4 comes out next week.

I'm waiting to start this once all the episodes are on Gamepass. Hopefully by early next year.

Final episode came out today and I just wrapped it up. Really well done and they did a great job connecting Life is Strange 1 & 2 in the final episode.
