I watched a 20 minute gameplay on IGN's YouTube channel this morning, looks pretty awesome. Basically Assassin's Creed in feudal Japan. I'll pick it up

Want this and LAST OF US 2, but will wait for (PS5 versions) when Sony releases GOD OF WAR II custom PS5 system and I'll buy/have all 3 games on that.

Even in this thread it took me a minute to realize that GoT was referring to Ghost of Tsushima. Kind of like when people tried to use U2 as an abbreviation of Uncharted 2.

Yea...Sucker Punch did an outstanding job on this.....

If anything, what I saw and came away with is the PS4 still has a lot of life and still going strong....not to mention Sucker Punch is seriously back in a huge way.The game plays like a Assassins' Creed with a lot of nice touches....the slow-mo sequences in combat. Visually it's stunning and again shows the PS4 is not dead by a long shot. I've still marveled on just how awesome AC: Origins and AC: Odyssey looks and Sucker Punch has done a marvelous job on capturing ancient Japan. Throw in a outstanding musical score, option for Japanese audio and the inclusion of Black & White "Japan Cinema"....it's going to be a awesome looking, playing, sounding game....well done Sucker Punch...

This looks amazing to me. I'm a pretty big fan of old samurai films and this looks like a video game love letter to those films. I don't play many video games these days, but I think I'm going to immerse myself in this when it comes out.

I really hope that is not the case and that Sucker Punch did this game right!
For someone who's a huge fan of Zatoichi, Lone Wolf and Cub, Lady Snowblood, Sword of Vengeance, Harakiri and the Kurosawa Samurai movies, I'm salivating over this release.

Wow, that is fascinating. The level of research is impressive. I'm typically a button masher who sticks with the basics(or sticks with the same set of moves throughout) in games like Batman, Mordor or God of War, so hopefully this game isn't too brutal on that type of gamer.

For 99% of media nowadays it doesn't matter if it's on the shelf the register won't let it be sold.

That's what I was thinking. It'll probably be flagged at the register. Technology is finally getting smarter than the employees. Worth a shot though if you're gonna be out and about anyway.

I found a SNES mini a few days before launch. The register flagged it and wouldn't allow it to be sold which confounded the employee. I knew what was up right away. The employee kept trying though. :lol:

Kurosawa mode sounded like a great idea, but it also sounds like the execution of it needs some tweaking before it can be better. One particular thing (not specific to K-mode, but relevant) is that the Japanese language track isn't matched to the character face movement... so it's like watching a Japanese dub of an English-spoken samurai film. The English-language track is synched properly. Seems like an oversight more than a deliberate choice, so hopefully that can be fixed in a patch.

Overall though, I'll probably still get this, but might wait a few days until some personal stuff gets sorted out.

The game sounds great but I'm focused on the Infamous games. Just started 2. That game aged well. Also have Second Son to play as well.

Hollywood Reporter liked it and said it was a visual masterpiece. It truly takes advantage of HDR displays.

Gamespot gave it a 7. Just looked at the score didn’t read the review.

Kotaku wasn't as favorable. It came down to once you get past the amazing visuals, it's just another open world game with boring side/fetch quests. I'll probably hold out for a sale.

Pretty much. They also mentioned that by the end you're so strong that tactics/stealth don't even matter.
