Get woke, go broke.

Personally, I didn't care about the female cyborg diversity brouhaha. But I was really turned off by EA/Dice's response. They basically gave the finger to everyone that brought it up. Particularly that guy who's now leaving EA. He called people "uneducated" and said if you don't like it, don't buy it.

I love the Battlefield franchise. But I don't want to give them my money when they crap on their fans like that. So I probably won't pre-order. I might wait for a good sale, or grab a used disc.

Yep, it dropped in price before I had even unwrapped my day one disc. At least I still had BestBuy's GCU back then to ease the pain a little. No more release date games for me. This does look like fun though.

Probably for the best. I'll buy it regardless of release. Battlefield is by far my favorite online shooter. I still go back to BF1 every once in a while and have a blast.

Still somewhat on my radar but actually glad this was bumped to November...... But I was wondering some are starting to point out though the setting is WWII or at least in that era, why are some guns with Holographic Sights and everyone running around as one said, "Like Usain Bolt" when back then one carried around 50-80lbs in gear....game does look good though....

Ah. Well, that's one way to avoid the Black Friday price drop!

I'm still in, but I don't think I'm going to bother pre-ordering now, unless there's some decent incentive out there I'm missing instead of just buying it at Target with a couple $5 gift cards I've picked up here and there to bring the price down from $60 when it comes out.

Oh, I can answer that: it's because it's a videogame.

I don't understand why people nitpick like this. Do players want weapon variation or not? Do you really want to move like you've got 50-80 lbs of shit on your back?

Well...there's two paths of thought..or two camps as to this. One likes as much realism as you can get in a game and one wants it as simplified as it can get.

There's been games that incorporate all sorts of variances to playing; weather, stamina, health, armor, material, guns, weapons types, accessories, body type, character....all which have a bearing as to damage output, movement, speed, carry load, damage taken etc. A lot of players out there like those choices are put in as there is a "Give & Take" on creating a character....not a generic type where the difference is mostly cosmetic or class type

However, on the simplified side, it's more about Guns & Maps & Action in general. Don't care about weight, stamina, health, armor...I want this and that gun, x amount of grenades or whatever, make my character look like this and go shoot somebody. Trouble is, if a game becomes mostly about visuals and too simplified, it doesn't separate itself or stand apart for others. Then you get the "Why should I buy this when it looks & plays like_______"

There are some rumors going around that they delayed it to include a copy of one (or both) of the Bad Company games. Kinda like CoD did with Modern Warfare. If that's true, that should definitely help the preorder situation.

Well, THAT would get me preordering pretty fast! Battlefield Bad Company 2 is how I got hooked into this whole mess in the first place!

Any thoughts on the beta? Seems pretty good although not sure why you can’t select some items even though they are shown, a locked status wasn’t obvious.

I do think the way it’s setup now that assault is the best setup. I dig how conquest works on spawns and counting down from 800.

I don't see anything I can play in it yet. Am I missing something? I assume I have to wait 2 days since I haven't pre-ordered.

Not entirely sure but if you ordered digitally through a console store it should be linked to your account, all you have to do is download the beta.

If you preordered in a store, you might have a code on your receipt.

I'm in the same boat as I bought it from Amazon unless I was supposed to go through EA's pre-order link which had Bestbuy.

Hopefully we can access the beta tomorrow. That’s the official date, I believe. Could only find UK articles. Weird...

Amazon just sent me the promotional code from my purchase yesterday. Will see how it goes tonight.

Good to hear you got it, I’ve been playing since Tuesday, it’s been cool but no one revives now, kinda lame.

I think it plays better than battlefield 1 however I don’t like the change back to tickets vs points for areas held.

Re: Battlefield V - 11/20/18 (PS4, XB1, PC)

I've played about a dozen rounds over the past two days. Here's some rambling of the top of my head:

The shadows are too dark. I've lost track of the number of times I've died because an opponent was sitting in the shadows right in front of me and I couldn't see him. I've heard other people complain about this on Youtube. So I know it's not just me.

There's only 1x zoom when you aim down sights. It makes it really hard to see anyone that's far away. On BF1 you could adjust the zoom on each gun.

I'm not crazy about the bleeding out thing. I've only been revived twice.

The spotting is different from BF1. Is it gone (except for the recon)? I haven't figured that out yet. But I'm a great spotter on BF1, so this really annoys me.

The game doesn't feel like WWII. Feels more like a modern warfare game (without any high tech stuff).

The fortress building is interesting. Unfortunately, it's only available in pre-determined locations. It would be cool if you could do it anywhere. You could create some great chokepoints between flags.

I don't like the Health and Ammo mechanics. I hate having to remember to heal myself. And I hate having to scrounge for ammo all the time. It feels like a survival game. BF1 was much better.

I don't like the weapon upgrade tree. You have to pick one branch or the other, and you're stuck with it. It would be better if you could work to unlock everything, and switch back and forth.

I really like the City map. That one's a blast.

Out of all the changes, this one bothers me the most. I really hope they revisit this one before release.
