E3 2018 - June 12th - June 14th

With E3 a month away, I figured we might as well get a thread started with the conference times and rumored games.

Today Walmart Canada jumped the gun and listed a bunch of games. We'll see if they turn up at E3. List below.

Just Cause 4
Splinter Cell
Dragon Quest 2
LEGO DC Villans
Borderlands 3
Rage 2
Gears of War 5
Forza Horizon 5
Assassin's Creed

Skipping 4 entirely! :) (Weirdly, walmart.ca takes it a step further by calling it "Forza Horizons 5", so all kinds of typos!)

I'm excited by the prospect of Just Cause 4, even though I know I'm probably the only person here who really dug 3.

A sequel to Rage seems interesting. A Splinter Cell return seems cool to me.

I'll probably go to E3 for one of the days.

That is a little odd, yes.

If by "here" you mean Planet Earth, then yes you are.

Borderlands 3? Better late than never?

It's weird that Halo isn't on that list. If it misses this year, that can't be a good sign for the franchise. Especially since Halo 5 was a huge disappointment to most people.

The rumor I keep seeing is that we'll get a Halo spinoff this year, but Halo 6 is 2019 at the earliest.

There might be some surprises and some that's out there now but might show even more......

Splinter Cell...way overdue
Borderlands 3...the first in my Top 5 Games and same thing; way overdue.
Days Gone....hopefully more on dates than constant gameplay
Anthem...bit of news recently but hopefully more details and new footage.
Red Dead Redemption II....with more details of the game no doubt even more is coming for E3
The Division II....rumors for quite awhile and has fallen under the radar lately.
Lara Croft-Shadow of the Tomb Raider...a darker version of already a stellar series...be interesting to see

Sleepers...
Atomic Heart...a new trailer was just release and already comparisons to Bioshock with a bit more horror added. It did look interesting and good
Rage 2...first one didn't get due credit and hopefully exppand on it.

On the PS4...
Bloodborne II...a small and short trailer was shown late last year at the game awards....will we see more?
Last of Us II....do we need to say more....
Ghost of Tsushima...from the bunch who gave us Infamous, Sucker Punch who has been quite lately, this could be the sleeper hit on the PS4 easily.

That's an awesome response.

That's hilarious.

MS should just hold Halo 6 until Next Gen.

I was kinda hoping to see a new Prince of Persia announced. But I don't see that happening if they are bringing back Splinter Cell.

Very doubtful we see anything on Final Fantasy 7 remake.

Square is having a press conference this year. So they will probably show something on it, but not much.

I'm banking on more footage, sadly I think we will see KH 3 before FF7 remake.

didn't we already get Borderlands 3 with the pre-sequel?

No. It was a third game, but it was smaller than a full Borderlands game, and not a continuation of the main Borderlands story.

It also wasn't by the same team that did the first two games.

I'm wondering if we finally get a release date for KH3. My Amazon preorder is like 5 years old now

The big question is....will it be backwards compatible when released....;)

....seems like the agenda for Sony will focus on games...no hardware...and the Big Four as of now will be....Spider Man, Death Stranding, Last of Us Pt II and Ghost of Tsushmia....not a bad lineup. These will get primary attention but there will be others.....I'm still holding out hope for something on Bloodborne II. Sucker Punch has been really quite since the release of Infamous: Second Son and Ghost of Tsushima could be a serious sleeper hit. Death Stranding hasn't got covered much, Spider Man looks really good and LoU-II....about time.

Days Gone and Detroit: Become Human should be in there for Sony as well. Both of which I'm looking forward to.

Detroit comes out before E3 so doubt we'll see it there.

We have it with the One X. We won't see a new system for 3 to 4 years, I would guess.

I dunno, the weak CPU still keeps it from being truly next-gen to my mind, despite the enormous leap in graphical horsepower.

Re: E3 2018 - June 12th - June 14th

To the public it's still an Xbox One (it's right in the name!). MS needs to wipe the slate and get a fresh start on marketing to improve perception. That means a new console. It worked wonders for Nintendo. Imagine if they put out a Nintendo WiiU X that was simply more powerful than the WiiU. All the baggage that was there remains, and perception would be the same.

Ignoring all that, Halo needs a good 5-8 year break anyway after Guardians. It might do them wonders.
